just wondering because the gym i train at is based on his teachings as my head trainer was one of his best students, he also gives seminars at our gym.

ya i know he hasn't done anything recently, its just sad because his kickboxing career was so good. I mean he defended his WKA title 28 times, pretty crazy
His mma wasn't as amazing but his professional kickboxing record was 62-9-4

oh yeah cuz its not like at LEAST half the people on here train mma, looking for attention from random strangers on the internet for doing a sport that millions of people already do is pathetic
now is there anyone on these boards who are fans of maurice besides me?

Always have been and will be a Mo Smith fan, ya have to remember that many of the people on the boards know nothing older in MMA than TUF, unless they look it up on Sh$%dog. I well remember watching him serve it up to Coleman when no one thought he had a shot at it, as well as him laying the beating on Abbot. Too bad his ground game never improved much beyond when Shammy and Bas were serving it up to him in Pancrase.

Maurice Smith is one of the coolest MMA guys I have met. I met him after the The Contenders grapping show (one of the twelve fans that showed up.) Sat and talked to him about the rules and the event for about 30 minutes. Also met Frank Shamrock there and he was cool, a bit on the cocky side but nothing horrible.

ya i really wish he had worked on his ground more while doing mma but his stand up was good and since the majority of his career was kick boxing thats all he needed
