can we finally act liek chris weidman's destruction of uriah hall was actually a noteworthy win?
weidman could beat anderson tommorow and people would still say he'd lose his next fight cause hes only 10-0.

Wrong if Weidman were to beat Anderson everyone would scream that AS has always fought cans and Weidman is Jesus. Also you have to think TUF is different and although Uriah Hall is impressive I don't think he will be able to perform like that against top 10 guys.

he has destroyed all his opponents minus costa and weidman, and weidman was able to TKO him on the feet. impressive feat, people just dislike weidman and try to discredit him and his former opponents to try and discredit how good he actually is.

First, cans or not AS is undefeated in his career in UFC there is no debating his greatness. If Weidman is able to shake up the world of MMA with a victory over the GOAT it more than likely be considered a fluke unless he does it again (as planned) The Uriah bandwagon is picking up steam but I saw Weidman pretty much dominate Hall in A.C. granted that was almost 2 years ago but Hall ain't Silva and Weidman will have to have the fight of his life to win. IMO he has a realistic chance at pulling off the upset, and AS knows this could be a hard fight. I bet he'd rather be facing GSP instead of Weidman

Don't get me wrong I'm not diputing the greatness of AS, that was just an example of what many people will say. Weidman is good but to be fair I feel like he became the #1 contender by process of elimination. Anyone can beat anyone in that cage no matter the odds. My point is really just that I feel that I can safely say Uriah Hall will NOT be doing all of this to top 10 guys.

Weidman proved that. U are absolutely right, anything can happen in a fight, but I feel like a lot of people don't give Weidman the credit he deserves

He deserves alot of credit without a doubt. I just believe people have jumped on this man's hype train and rode it way too far. Lol
I was there.
The "experts" even back then said Hall would decimate Chris on the feet.. What happened? Left hook down goes Hall ...
With that said though, Hall with his tremendous skill+power on his feet is always going to be one of the more dangerous strikers in the world.

Let's just agree that both Weidman and Hall have stamps of approval from fighters who have made great names for themselves (Serra and GSP for Weidman, Jones and Sonnen for Hall).

I wouldn't really judge either fighter from 3 years ago when both were very early into their mma careers. Alot can/and has changed for both of them.

Well Uriah was still a striker then and Weidman was a grappler, and he beat him at striking...
Not a noteworthy win. Beating a bunch of "cans" on TUF doesn't mean anything. Hall has lost his only 2 fights where he didn't face total cans. He is nothing more than an unproven prospect at this point. If Hall starts winning actual UFC fights it may then become a noteworthy win.
Seems like a derivative of "MMA math" and is equally flawed. The Uriah Hall that Wiedman fought three years ago is more than likely no where near the fighter that he is today. We can stretch this out and try to say that if someone slapped around Uriah when he was in Junior High, that person must be a beast today. That'd be ridiculous, though.
This is not an attack on Wiedman; I'm not saying anything for or against him. I'm just saying that because he beat Uriah a few years ago and Uriah's now showing great promise now says nothing about Wiedman's current status as a fighter.

Halls good no question but a win over Bubba really is not that big a deal my good friend Tom Jones, who is much older, 14 years to be exact, and beat up from his years in the sport, easily subbed him a few years back when Bubba went by his real name Robert and from what I have seen on the show Bubba has not brought his game up much in the 4 1/2 years since Tom beat him. Bubba has one notable win really his whole career over Uscola, when he has fought higher than local level fighters like Schlemenko or G Harris he has lost every time, so Uriahs win was no big deal especially when you consider that Bubba has been pretty damn inactive the last few years as well.

Actually he was bullied as CHILD and learned how to fight and strike after that. So he's been fighting a while and tuning his talents. I think Uriah is being overhyped.

So what does this have to do with anything I said? Beating a guy a few years ago says nothing about your skill and talent as a fighter now.
