I have no idea where he was in the belt system prior to tonight's fight. But he submits James Toney (essentially a practice dummy) and receives a Black Belt? I thought it was harder than that... It's probably just a joke anyway with Randy being a legend and all to just give it to him to make him look better.

Not sure but I think that was kind of a joke. Randy is a pretty talented grappler but I don't think he's ever been on the belt system.

wrestlers take in bjj very very naturally
some wrestlers can get a blue belt in 6 months
randys been doin this stuff for 7 years
i think its just like rashads black belt a wrestler thats well versed in submissions

Black belts aren't handed out to anyone as a token gesture, otherwise they wouldn't be worth crap.
He was probably due to earn it and his trainers thought this would be a prime time to award it.

Are you mad that Anderson Silva had one fight at MW before he got a title shot or that Vitor is only going to have one fight at MW before he gets a shot as well? I could see being mad because he was undeserving but look what he did with those title shots he f---ing won. to me that kind of negates the fact of not deserving it because if you beat the champion no matter where you fall in any division you still beat the champion.

Dont really care. He couldnt hold on to it. He wouldnt have won enough to deserve it in the first place. The only way he could get it was as a gift from Dana. He still got his *** beat in every weight class anyway. Ever since Chuck KOed him twice, he seems to show up when there are easy fights to be had. Hes an opportunist. Not a legend or an all time great.
