Great job Canada! You did what you were supposed to and demanded from you by playing against Qatar.
Now, like they say in the South, "don't get above your raisin" Canada, because at the end you were just playing Qatar.

Expected, pfft, not even close. Specific odds for an exact 6-0 scoreline were massive longshots, typically sitting at around +1700 to +2500, as Canada entered the match as solid but moderate moneyline favorites (around -350).

Maybe not the final score but winning by 2-3 goals was more expected than a tie

I don't mean the score in specific. I mean the results!

HISTORIC first ever win for the Canada in the World Cup!

You can't diminish the 6 though. In this tournament format, having a superior score differential can impact longevity.

It's as important as the win, nobody expected a 6 goal margin.
Well they did have two men sent off. With only one sent off it would’ve made a huge difference but 2? Boy oh boy. I’m rooting for you to progress. Swiss will be the hardest game for you and it’s a doable draw at the very least.

Some interesting dynamics at the top of the group.

We only need a draw at a minimum to keep the home field, that's no travel (to LA) and more rest for the squad during the (16) knockout stage. More importantly, it allows our number 1 player (Davies), who's been absent, to get in the mix when he's needed most. IF we make it past the Swiss, the next match up will be a more favorable, lower tiered 3rd placing team.

Stars are aligning lol. I don't have any skin in the game for soccer, but because it's basically happening right outside my door, it is kind of exciting. Yesterday, while I was walking to the gym I was moving upstream against a sea of red, literally thousands of people. 🤞

In fairness I just watched the highlights and you were ahead 2-0 and in total control before the first sending off, creating a lot of chances. That leg break was brutal. Not sure if it had any malice in the challenge but it was certainly reckless. I think you’ll get the draw but Switzerland are a good team so you’ll go through even if you get beat.
