With the results so far there are two final tickets to the last 32 knockout stage:

If Austria ties Algeria they both qualify and Iran is eliminated

If one of them wins the loser is eliminated and Iran is in

Austria up 1-0, Iran currently advances

Austria advances to round of 32, Iran gets eliminated on a last minute goal, and Sabitzer gets to tell his grandkids he scored in the World Cup. Get in!!!!

Hopefully Egypt and Algeria are out next

But Australia and the Swiss are not that scary for them

It's funny but Austria gets Spain so maybe Algeria aren't that upset with that draw, if they won that would be them vs Spain

Spain is overrated and I can see them getting knocked out in the quarters or even round of 16, but sadly they will shred Austria apart. Egypt beats Australia (Socceroos are trash), I think the Swiss squeeze past Algeria.

Portugal were lucky af against Columbia to only get a point. By far they were the better team and Columbia had a goal disallowed in the last minute by a toes distance for offside. Columbia still won the group but it should’ve been 3 wins not two.

Despite having world class players in their squad, Portugal will not go far. The manager’s unwillingness to drop a 41 year old Ronaldo, when there are better strikers than him, that were playing regularly for their clubs at the top level. Yet Ronaldo was scoring goals in the Saudi Bush league, I can’t see Ronaldo scoring many goals against the top teams. In his prime he was phenomenal, even 5-6 year ago he was still good, but not any more. Although his speeds still there somewhat, top defenders will find it easy to shut him down. The Ronaldo from 20+years ago would’ve terrorised them. We’re in a different age.

Ronaldo coming off the bench would’ve been far more beneficial to their team.
