Soccer/Futbol/Football

This world cup gives hope to the national teams out there that have been mired in mediocrity for so long. Teams like Indonesia and Italy.

in terms of heat, wouldn't 1am be better for Eng?
1AM here would be 7PM there. I meant it’ll be better for fans that have to stay up until 3AM, maybe 4AM if it goes to extra time and penalties, then will be expected to go to work. Getting put back 6 hours and it’ll be 7PM here which would be perfect for them. The weather forecast on Mondays not looking too bad for us. 22s highest with 60% humidity. Heat and humidity we can handle, not ideal but we have players playing for teams in hotter countries and we got players playing in Europe a lot throughout the season. It’s the elevation that’s the problem. For the first time in the World Cup. Those hydration breaks are going to be very important for us.

FIFA screwed up by not addressing this for teams and should’ve ordered them to play in a stadium in Mexico not at elevation. Mexico have a lot of players that play in Europe but they’ve had a month in Mexico City to acclimatise. England will have 3 days. This means the best teams might lose cuz of that. You need 2 weeks at the very least to get close to adjusting to high elevation. Not a single player in the Mexican team would be able to get in the England squad, but elevation evens it up and it’s just not fair. Anywhere else in the world and England beat Mexico easily, but now I think we struggle and England have a lot of fit players too but that’s not going to matter.

What a big effort by Cape Verdi against Argentina. They have a population of just over half a million people and they took the reigning champions to extra time. A bit more luck and it could’ve even be penalties. Unbelievable. Their second goal could be a contender for goal of the tournament, perfect execution from a very difficult angle. Not as surprising as it should be considering they drew 0-0 against Spain in the opening game but still..

This is a warning to Argentina that they’re not invincible. Columbia or Switzerland will give them a good go. Egypt? Probably not but never say never in this tournament.

Cape Verdi and Congo just put themselves in a strong place in Africa. The next African Nations they both will be a problem for the big teams.

It's tomorrow I wrote Monday by mistake (past 12AM so "Monday")

But haven't seen the game time changed so far

So far FIFA were considering the change but Mexico weren’t happy with that. Apparently the FA weren’t either so talks are still ongoing but they’re sticking with the same time for now, but the forecast for the exact time is looking dire.
