His decision to move out of the box and shut it down was 100% correct. His decision cross to the side or whatever the fuck he was planning was smooth brained enough you can eat melted Kraft cheese off it. Just kick it out of the fucking stadium!

I was expecting it to be closer, and for the US offense to apply more pressure than they ended up being able to... but, Belgium is a much better squad than anyone the US faced to that point.


It didn't help that our goalie made an all-time. "wtf are you doing?" blunder either

Yeah that was catastrophic…I thought it would’ve been a draw that headed to extra time and maybe penalties. The US has played a lot better than expected and Belgium, despite their strong squad of individual players just haven’t, but they shined finally.

I think cuz of the European connection, Belgium will give Spain a tough game. Spain were poor yesterday so anything’s possible.

Idk about that. Portugal, with the inclusion of old and very lazy Ronaldo in have been very poor too. Yesterday was an even game really, nothing separated them apart from the late goal.

Belgium have always underachieved in major tournaments, even though they’ve always had world class players in their squad and they have the best goalkeeper in the world in my eyes. I expect the same tight game between them, but I will chose Spain to play France in the semis.
 
The US looked like the old school US team for the first 45 minutes. They were nervous as shit and making so many hesitant plays. Once they got down they came out in the 2nd half much more aggressive and looked a lot better. But Belgium was already playing well and it was too late. Throw in the boneheaded goalie play and it was over.

I think the goalie actually made the right play there. There was a guy charging in on a break away and he raced up to beat him to the ball. Not a bad play and he did get there... but once he was there, he totally shit the bed. Just blast the fucking ball out of there. Another hesitation play and that's all it takes at this level.

Also the defender could have easily blocked that shot, not as big of a mistake as the goalie but nobody's talking about that either
