I've never been a fan of Showdown's "I'm such good friends with everyone" act, but he does know his stuff. I'd much rather watch Showdown Joe than Mauro Renallo

How about a clip of you interviewing some top fighters?
Or you and a top trainer demonstrating a technique?
Maybe some video analysis of a fight, explaining technical errors and how they contributed to the result?

Joe is annoying but he isn't the problem. The show is called MMA Connected but the talk about the UFC 95% and Strikeforce the other 5%. It completely ignores everything else going on in MMA around the world and especially in their own country. Add in the fact that people couldn't care less what Jason MacDonald has to say about MMA. Mauro is more annoying but at least he does a much better job of covering what's going on in the world of MMA.

I would agree, when Sportsnet first started pimping MMA i was always on here ripping the guy. He always picks main events for the popular fighter and always would lose.
However, since at the time, most people weren't watching MMA on sportsnet, nobody knew what the hell i was talking about. Not that they do now though...

I'm not positive, but it could be because The Score has rights to both Bellator and the WEC... The Score would be dumb to ignore the UFC even if they don't pimp because it's not their main affiliation, but i could see that being a reason why Sportsnet doesn't give a ton of props to other organizations.

I think that is correct, and I don't mind the guy. At least he loves what he does. Anyone see him spar with Frankie Edgar? Edgar landed a leg kick and the guy couldn't continue with the bit lol

I don't have a big problem with the UFC-bias. Afterall, the show is about 20 minutes long, and there are so many different segments that it's to their benefit that they focus on the UFC-first, and SF-second (which sometimes switches if there's an upcoming SF card).
Mauro's MMA Show contains a lot of information for a 20 minute show, but it's also so rapid fire that it's tough to actually watch. The presentation doesn't help either. Too often, they have 5+ minute phone interviews and it's hard to watch on TV because you're staring at one guy's picture that whole time. Inside MMA on HDnet is a much better "MMA News" show than Mauro's Show.

Joe Ferraro is very awkward at reading teleprompters. Listening to him read off the prompter really sounds like bad acting. I do enjoy his passion for the sport, however, and in interviews he asks good, original questions which is a rarity in MMA media. I think of Joe got some more swagger, then he would be the man, but he is just so damn awkward when he reads and his voice is kinda annoying too. I guess i would give joe a 65% grade.
Mauro Ranallo is very hit or miss for me. If he ever laughs out loud or even giggles, he loses points in my mind. I dont like the way he speaks in his lowly tenored and sort of just stares at the camera with a thiago silva look. The MMA show all in all is alright, as it is good to see MMA related material on television most of the time, but it is full of information I already know about just like MMA connected.
I wonder if TSN had a show which douchebag they would choose as the host...
One show I will recomend, if you are down with the host, is MMA Meltdown, hosted by Gabriel Morency. The show is on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays on the fight network, and on his website www.morencysports.com. Pretty sure its one at 7 tonight on the fight network, and if you wanna watch an archived episode for free just go to the site. They dont really talk about things that we already know about, and morency is obvioysly a character, but you can tell he is holding back a bit now that hes on television. His shows like sports rage which only get shown online are the true crazy shows. Wow that kinda sounded like spam lol.

What happened was he showed up drunk for a sports rage show, and was suspended as a result. Then in a meeting with the executives they decided he was a little too "hardcore" for them. That is how Gabe tells it at least.

Yeah he's kind of douchey but he knows his s--- and is good at what he does. I like the show. I do feel pretty embarrassed for him alot of the time though haha. Especially during the opening credits..
