Hey guys, if their is a thread already just merge it but I looked and didn't see one. I posted yesterday about my friend who is going to start fighting again. I am in the process of finding him fights in organizations but I also want to help him out with sponsors that can help him out and also help out those businesses with publicity. Any ideas on how I should go about getting him some sponsors or where to go. Thanks again fellas

Your going to need to look locally, with people you know. He'd be lucky at 2-0 with no exposure to get "Teds Hardware Store" to sponser him. On a bigger level, like MMA clothing and product lines sponsering him, hes going to need to make noise. You need to get out locally, and hit up sports bars, business, etc, that would be willing to sponsor him. That is your best bet.

Also, to keep this thread on sponsorship discussion in general, I had to delete some of your friends bio info, so that this thread doesnt come off as spam. I know thats not your intentions, but to prevent 100 threads like this from fighters in the future.

Definately, some great advice there. Even Matt Hughes had to get sponsoreships from the tire barn back in Idaho while he was champion. No shame in local businesses.

Any one who wants to fight please contact RITC promoter Roland Sarria at: ritc@rageinthecage.com
Fighters who would like the chance to enter the cage must have the following items.
Arizona State Boxing Commission requires the following..
For any Professional Boxer / Unarmed combatant.. MMA, NHB, Kickboxing, etc... The following health requirements must be met. The eye exam must be an Ophthalmolgical exam..
2009 - New forms !
It is simple to become a RITC fighter. Get your meds done after Dec 1, 2008 and your AZ license will be good through Dec 31, 2009.
You will need:
Physical - download forms below Opthalomogical Exam - download forms below HIV - just need lab report ( no form ) Hep B & Hep C - just need lab report ( no form ).
The Axiom Group: http://www.hivandstdtesting.com will perform all three tests for $129 total and will provide them the results in 1-2 business days. The labs are open Monday – Friday but Saturday appointments can be made by calling them before 5pm on Friday. The fighters must mention that they were referred by “MCDPH” to get this price.
Must fax to the Commission at least two weeks prior to fight day ( TELEPHONE (602) 364-1721 FACSIMILE (602) 364-1703 )
Bring your original paperwork on fight night and turn in to the Commission, (keep at least one copy for your records). Save and print from your computer.
smc, here's the registration info for rageinthecage.com
If he's able to get a fight out here i got a buddy that will kick him some sponsorship money. His family owns a home improvement company and have sponsored local boxers (Michael Carbajal) and some mma fighters (Homer Moore)

I just went through this exact process this last month for my fight last saturday. 1, if you have a PCP you can get the physical and blood tests done for like $25. If you have eye insurance you can get the eye test done for $10 (pm me and i will hit you up with a correct eye doc in scottsdale). So instead of $129 you can get it done for $35. If you dont have the insurance then yeah go with that other place. 2, You do not have to bring the original paperwork, just fax the info to the commission and then call them and ask if it came through clear enough and they will tell you you dont need to bring it with you on fight night.

Oh, you said your buddy could give him sponsor money but I said the only way we could go that far is if everything was paid for because its so far that he would have to take a couple days off work

Apparently there is something going on with the commission in Indiana and at the present time they are putting fight cards on hold after June. The promoter said he is going to try to still have the event in July but it may not happen now. I have been looking for another fight with him and I am currently in talks with a promoter for a fight on July 31st in Dublin, Ohio

If he tattoos "Bud Light" to his chest and "The difference is drinkability" to his back I am sure Budweiser will work something out.

im from up northwest indiana (gary area, you should have heard of it haha) and there is a local guy up here that runs events every few months... Corral Combat if you google it something will come up. i know they had a guy named Deray Davis fight on the Chicago Bellator event one week after fighting in that. and i know that deray fights probably once a month.

Right on! If he comes to Canada I'm sure he can get as many fights as he wants? KOTC is looking for guys (not the best organization in the world though) My kid fights for them. MFC in Edmonton is a great organization and are looking for fighters too.
