Stephan Bonnar vs Karlos Vemola slated for UFC on VS 5

A light-heavyweight bout between veteran Stephan Bonnar (13-7 MMA, 7-6 UFC) and Karlos Vemola (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is in the works for UFC on Versus 5.
Bonnar first tweeted news of the matchup earlier today, and ESPN's Jon Anik later revealed the event.
Although not officially by the organization, UFC on Versus 5 is expected to take place Aug. 14, likely at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
The night's main card airs on Versus, though it's not clear if Bonnar vs. Vemola will be part of the broadcast.
Bonnar, a fan favorite since his runner-up finish on "The Ultimate Fighter 1," suffered a three-fight losing streak from 2009-2010. But following a TKO of Krzysztof Soszynski and a decision victory over Igor Pokrajac in 2010, he now looks to match a career best with his third straight victory. Of his six career UFC losses, all but one came to former or current champions: Forrest Griffin (twice), Rashad Evans, Jon Jones and Mark Coleman.
Vemola, a 25-year-old Czech prospect, made his octagon debut at UFC 116 and suffered a decision loss to heavyweight Jon Madsen. The national wrestling champion then dropped to light heavyweight and scored a first-round TKO of Seth Petruzelli at UFC 122. However, a UFC 128 bout with Luiz Cane didn't materialize when Vemola was forced off the card with an undisclosed injury.

Good test for Vemola. He looked like an absolute monster against Seth. I'll be very interested to see how he does against a very experienced and durable guy in Bonnar.

Poor Bonnar, he's gonna get raped by Klos. He just can't get a good matchup. He's fought many guys who have been champions (Griffin x2, Machida, Evans, Coleman, Bones Jones). Vemola is a beast at 205. This will be hard to watch. Bonnar is pretty much a stepping stone for UFC Champs.

Vemola along with Rick Story is one of my newer favorites. What an animal. I hope this fight goes through, Vemola should wreck.

I really like Bonnar and always like to see him fight. I hope this one is on VS, I would be surprised if it was not. Bonnar is always a big draw for fans.

this is a decent matchup. a couple fights back i was worried about bonnar being able to keep his job. the guy is always exciting to watch.

Bonnar will never have to worry about his job. The UFC will never cut him. I believe Dana has said this as will.... Him and Forrest will be in the UFC for life.

There is something about Bonnar's voice that annoys me. Although I did love his commentating of the Pettis kick, "He just ran up the cage like a ninja" still makes me laugh.
I'm leaning towards a Vemola tko late 1st round. Should be interesting to see his gas tank though if Bonnar survives to the later rounds. One thing that is guarantied is that Bonnar will leave bloody.
