As always, Strikeforce delivered last Saturday with nonstop action and a card filled with brawls and finishes.
The California State Athletic Commission today released the list of medical suspensions for the event.
Main event fighters, Nick Diaz and Paul Daley top the list. Diaz received 60 days of no contact for an eye laceration received at the hands of the challenger and Daley got 45 days for precautionary reasons following his TKO loss.
The rest of the medical suspensions are below:
- Nick Diaz; suspended 60 days; no contact 60 days; eye laceration
- Paul Daley; suspended 45 days; no contact 30 days; TKO
- Tatsuya Kawajiri; suspended 45 days; no contact 30 days; TKO
- Keith Jardine; suspended 60 days; no contact 60 days; right eyebrow, nose laceration
- Hiroyuki Takaya; suspended 60 days; no contact 60 days; right cheek laceration
- Brett Albee; suspended 45 days; no contact 30 days; KO; suspended 60 days; no contact 60 days; nose, temple laceration
- Saad Awad; suspended 180 days, no contact 180 days, fractured right hand
- AJ Matthews; suspended 45 days; no contact 30 days; KO

In an interview featured earlier today with Nick Diaz and AOL’s Ariel Helwani, Diaz expressed his concern involving a CSAC official threatening him with a disciplinary suspension.

it has been learned that Diaz will not be facing a suspension other than the 60 day medical suspension issued for his eye laceration.
According to the report, after Diaz defeated Paul Daley Diaz briefly yelled at the audience and then started talking trash to Daley. This prompted action from a CSAC official to go warn the champ and tell him that he will likely face disciplinary action for his outburst. The official in question is unidentified.
The CSAC executive director George Dodd as well as Strikeforce officials have now confirmed that no disciplinary action will be taken against the welterweight star.
