The California State Athletic Commission today disbursed the fighter suspensions and salaries for last week’s Strikeforce Challengers 15 event.
Headliners Justin Wilcox and Rodrigo Damm took the majority of the $68,500 event payroll home and five fighters face medical suspensions of up to 180 days.
Wilcox is out for a possible broken hand, Phillips a nasal fracture, Avila is out for a right-hand fracture and eyebrow laceration while Sandoval ruptured his bicep. SF, and previously Affliction and EXC have always had these low salaries. Affliction made a splash by overpaying their top stars, but if you look at the complete salary of their undercard fighters, there were fighters making less than TUF competitors do at the finale.

a strikeforce challengers card is like a minor league baseball game. $4K + another few grand in sponsorship money isn't too bad.
