In light of Georges' plans to "take some time off," and considering the controversial outcome of the Henricks fight, what do you think is the right thing to do with the belt?
How much time should a champion be allowed to take off between fights?
Should/would he resign as champion?
Will the UFC offer him an ultimatum? (i.e. fight or be stripped of the title)
There are lots of interesting questions right now. Personally, I'd like to see him either give an immediate rematch, or resign as champion.

According to Dana the personal issues are not serious, GSP is just over-reacting.
Personally, I don't think anyone that can't sleep at night, loses vision when he's hit and has admitted to losing hours of memory at a time should be fighting anymore. GSP has had his time at the top, he should retire for good while he's there.

If George leaves it should be winner of Condit/Brown vs Hendricks for the title.

Until he takes more than the required time to defend then he should remain champion. Hendricks has to have an instant rematch when George is ready to fight again, but the UFC and Johnny might decide that he needs to keep busy by taking another fight in the meantime. I wouldn't recommend it but if he was holding the belt then he would have to be fighting these guys anyways and he still needs to get payed.
I think the UFC should give George a time limit to decide if he's coming back. My guess is he'll be back sooner than we all think and a rematch in 2014 will happen IMO.

It's the thing that he talked about with Joe Rogan before on Rogan's podcast. Georges said that Aliens are possibly are stealing his time and that he experiences time jumps (video of the interview is below, MMA cartoons even made an episode about it).
I personally think he won because of the third round, but GSP looked different than before. I don't mean his technique but more his emotions during the fight. He has always had that confident look on his eyes, but last fight he didn't. Anyways, I don't think it's a good idea that his camp talked about retirement prior to the fight. Georges is the champion and also fighter I respect the most as a person. I hope that he won't fight for too long, because he has taken some serious damage lately and I want him to enjoy his live. He earns about 12 million dollar a year, he doesn't need to fight.

Oh lol I just asked about this in the other thread....this is what I first thought about too when hearing about a weird personal problems. But the test results could be a thing too.
I know george sounds really scared when talking about this I would be scared too. Fourth kind had me freaked out. he also seems reluctant and hesitant because he knows how crazy it would sound but he needs to just speak the truth and tell people what really thinks going on.
You may be worried you will come off as crazy but holding that type of stuff in and pretending it doenst happen is what can make you go crazy.

Well, a precedent has been set to allow a champ to be inactive for nearly 2.5 years and keep his belt (Cruz). So If GSP wants to take time off, he should be able to take at least that amount of time off and in the mean time they should have an Interim champ?

Wow, that alien talk was eye opening, he's got some mental issue apparently and would not be surprised if that's part of his "issue" that is forcing him to take time off. Maybe bipolar or borderline or something? Did not expect to hear such nutty things come from GSP.
