A promo is also Countdown and All Access shows. Every sport uses promos. Combat sports like boxing and MMA rely heavily on promos to build hype because you only see the guys 4 times a year max.

I don't hate on pro wrestling. as a kid i was a big time fan i was a huge Rowdy Roddy Piper fan.. i wore that Hot Rod t-shirt tilll it faded out, i kinda lost interest i guess after Wrestlemania 5 or 6 ... i was just pointing out that i never heard of Taz, i don't watch it , but i know about guys like Austin and the Rock i guess cause they are more mainstream.... and also they do have stupid names. i remember a guy call " Leaping Lanny ". i mean wtf ? would you ever call yourself " Leaping Fieldmarshall "...... but i don't hate on wrestling, i relize its popular, it's just no longer on my radar
