What can you say negative about the guy? Hes such a likeable personality and such an incredibly exciting fighter. Not to mention he has been a great ambassador for the sport.
What a great story it would be if he rehabed from his recent injury and made a run for the Middleweight Title? That would literally make my life complete.
He's my all time favorite fighter. Watching his KO of Sakuraba, I think it was in their 2nd fight, where he hit him what looked about 5 times before he hit the ground made me fall in love with MMA.
Here's hoping that cutting to MW can do the same for his career that it did for Vitor.
During Pride he was amazing to watch no doubt. Still he puts on a great show everytime he enters the octagon but in his prime he was beast and ran over every one in his way.
Wanderlei Silva is, and always has been one of the most overrated fighters in MMA. He lost to Tito Ortiz for the UFC LHW belt. Dan Henderson put him to sleep when he was supposedly in his prime. He couldn't KO glass-jaw Liddell when they finally met. And last, but not least, Rampage showed what would have happened if Wanderlei hadn't been on roids in Pride.
Okay... j/k!! Wanderlei is one of my favorite fighters. I just wanted to see how it feels to be a troll. Turns out it actually makes me feel like a total idiot! So why do people do it??? :| Anyway, I'm still hoping the axe-murderer gets a shot at MW gold in the UFC before he's done. A fight against Anderson Silva or a rematch against Vitor Belfort would be epic. I'd also be excited for Wanderlei vs. Chris Leben or Chael Sonnen.
