Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform in the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show, the NFL and NBC announced on Sunday.
The Super Bowl halftime show is annually the most-watched musical performance. More than 148 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's show. This season's Super Bowl is set to be played in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Feb. 1. The halftime show will be broadcast worldwide in more than 230 countries and territories.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band join an esteemed list of recent halftime acts that includes the Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
The Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show is an NFL Network production and will be executive produced by Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment and by Don Mischer Productions. Don Mischer also will serve as director.
Sticking to the old school rockers and "safe" haltime shows still. Not a bad choice though, The Boss is good in my book. Though Petty was great last year, I was actually hoping to see The Who land the halftime show this year.

I'm actually relieved. I thought the title revealed the port of miami hustla was going to headline halftime at the super bowl until it was Bruce Springsteen :lol:.
They should make it "Rick Rossed" instead of "Rick Rolled".

Bruce Springsteen was born in the USA.
That was a bad *** jam.Dancing in the dark was good to. I bet it will be a good show. I'm looking forward to it, but i'm not sure he can beat 1991's NKOTB performance.

I can picture the picture showing his fat *** sitting on a chair with his lame goatee eating donuts. The part that says he was promoted after a couple years for being a good cop or officer makes me laugh my *** off then hear him talk about how he deals cocaine, knows Pablo, Noriega owes him a hundred favours, working with the police acting like you know me. What's funny about the NFL is how they are at the forefront of all things sport related in the US but still so unbelievably outta touch with everything else. Constantly wanting to parade out old, dying rockers from a previous era. I mean are we so afraid of another wardrobe malfunction that we will parade aged drugged out rockers (I'm looking at you rolling stones and tom petty) that we'd rather they have a heart attack on stage and die than expose a little boob?
