This has been bugging me for awhile now. When ever I see an article that talks about the Flyweights, I always see comments like "I don't want to watch two midgets fight." or "No one cares about the tiny guys". Have you ever thought about the fighters themselves? Like me, I plan to fight at 125, and I can't help the fact I am a tiny guy. Just the way I am. We want our shot, we want the big paychecks & we can kick some ***.

Dude relax. Have you watched the current season of TUF. They are making a name for smaller guys...and it's only a matter of time before 125 makes it's way to the UFC. Although if you do weigh 125...my wife could probably kick your ***.

The problem with the 125 division is that there's no depth, just like the women's division. The #1 flyweight is a guy who got ragdolled by Charlie Valencia.

I'm fine...I just wanted to vent a little bit about it. I see it from time to time and it was starting the bug me. And your wife would probably beat my ***...unless she is already doing that to you

Like previously people have said, with the talent influx of the smaller Bantamweights like John Dodson, Josh Ferguson and Louis Gaudimont (sp?), give it a few years.

As a 135 lb fighter myself, I definitely know where you're coming from. All I can say is: give it time. The 135 and 145 lb divisions JUST got added to the UFC, and in a couple of years a lot of fans will forget that they were even late entries to the party.
Flyweight will be added, and once it's filled out with global talent and a season or two of TUF, it will fit right in with the rest of the boys. It's just a process.
Plus, most Bantamweight fights in the UFC so far have been consistently exciting when compared to other weight classes, they've been doing a good job of representing themselves. I think the common mindset of "the heavier the fighters, the more exciting" is definitely dying out, and people are beginning to see how fast-pace and intense little guys can be.

the only thing i've ever heard of people complaining about smaller weights is lack of punching power. a good fight, is good whether there is a ko or not. besides, i think that sort of thing is a case by case thing. i mean there are guys at higher weights that can't ko people.

i don't care at all about 125 fighters in the UFC.........they have enough weight classes and no need to add more IMO.
but this is really my opinion based on that i do not like more weight classes.......always love watching the smaller guys because 9/10 times what they lack in power they make up for in technique.

I dono if you've been watching Dana white's interviews... He says "We need more fights" every time he gets a chance to say that. And thats understandable since they are planning on putting 34 shows next year and even more the year after that.

This.
Go watch Darrell Montague vs. Ulysses Gomez, or any fight that involves Ian McCall, Jussier da Silva, Mamoru Yamaguchi and Yasuhiro Urushitani. Hell, a few of the guys on this season of TUF are 125 pounders (Dodson, Gaudinot), and Alexis Vila just brutally, brutally knocked out Joe Warren (a 145 pound "world" champion).
Seriously, Flyweight is my third favourite division behind Bantamweight and Featherweight. Bring these little bastards on.

a lot of guys that would be flyweights don't fight at it because it isn't in any of the major U.S. organizations where the money is.
And the guy that got ragdolled by Valencia, also held his own against Dom Cruz.

34 shows, is that including the live tuf fights?........i mean part of the problem right now is the UFC puts on TOO many shows.......or at least PPVs.
