I been looking at the S but I'd like to shoot both so I can feel the kick.

The differences between an SF and S model (specifically comparing the G30SF and G30S) affect how each model carries and shoots:
    • Glock SF (Short Frame): Features the standard, full-width slide, but the frame's circumference at the rear is reduced. This shortens the distance from the backstrap to the trigger without reducing the magazine capacity. It weighs around 24 oz unloaded.
    • Glock S (Slim/Short): A hybrid model that combines the SF frame with a significantly narrower, lighter slide (identical in width to the single-stack G36). This reduces the unloaded weight to just over 20 oz, making it substantially easier to conceal inside the waistband. However, the lighter slide produces slightly more felt recoil.

I'll be going with the Gen 5 standard size if I buy it. I heard the trigger is substantially improved on the Gen 5, and I never even had a problem with the stock Glock trigger.

I don't mind a 2 finger grip either, my pinkie will rest under the mag just fine

When I first started my pistol shooting career, I would often shoot low left. I was incredibly surprised the first time I picked up a sub compact, a Ruger LC9, and I immediately shot it better than my G19. Turns out squeezing my with my pinkie involuntarily was throwing my shots. I've worked out that problem with full sized pistols long ago, but I got the side benefit of never minding short grips. I shoot my snubby J Frame extremely well.

I'd agree with that. Not to say it shoots soft, or soft for a .45 even, but you just feel like it's a .45. You know usually with a sub compact it feels extra zippy cuz they're smaller and lighter but that's just not present here.

I think you'll see what I mean about the grip. It's not BAD, it's just not my preferred feeling on a grip. If you're used to Glocks, it's not a big adjustment, I just prefer a full hand.

I didn't hate it, but I paid like $200 to have an armorer take down the trigger pull to 4lbs, have a quicker trigger reset, and remove the Glock 'sponginess' in the trigger for my Glock 19. Then I threw on some quickdraw sites and I gotta tell ya, made a WORLD of difference. Made a good gun fantastic.

It felt good before, but for like $250 total turned that thing into a friggin dream.
I gotta check, I don't think I have a Gen 5, I'd be very excited if they improved the trigger.

I think you'll see what I mean about the grip. It's not BAD, it's just not my preferred feeling on a grip. If you're used to Glocks, it's not a big adjustment, I just prefer a full hand.

They are, I have 2 of them that I run suppressed. They come with 20 round mags but you can buy 30 round mags for them from hkparts. I have ran several thousands of rounds through them and very rarely do you get a misfire or jam. .22 LR is notorious for misfiring and jams because of the small bullets in the mags. I bought them to train kids shooting. The nice thing is they have no kick and while suppressed they are real quiet. Kids that are first learning to shoot flinch because of those two things. One is being scared of the recoil and two they bang scares them. By taking that out of the equation you can teach them to do the same thing every time they shoot. Once they get the basics down, proficient handling the firearms and accurate I move them up in caliber. For pistols I use the Sig P322 for the same reason. They come with a threaded barrel already. Silencerco Switchback 22 is lightweight and great for kids.
