- JFC News has recently sat down with the third highest ranked fighter in the JKA Camp, GoodCat! And here is what he had to say......
GoodCat Interview:
Question:
Looking very impressive in the tournament so far with a 3-0 record with wins coming against nywrestler, dnfaught, and Gordon you are on a roll sir! But come this Saturday you will have your hands full with AoW's "under the radar" fighter, icanthear! Do you see a tough contest coming or just an easy route to a perfect tournament for the one known as GoodCat!?!
GoodCat:
Yeah, I think it will be tough. icanthear is a really good fighter and my fights have been tougher each round. But I am very confident in my abilities and I know that if I fight my fight I should take home the W.
Question:
So how has training been going for JFC 23 up to this point? Don't give anything away but do you think JKA have all the right moves going into one of the biggest shows in JFC history?
GoodCat:
Training's been great so far but we still have this whole week to keep at it. Of course we have the right moves, you don't get to be the best in the JFC without them.
Question:
Being in the same camp along with the names of Mutation, Andre3000, Pillman4, Enderwiggin, and Andrewrees do you think some people may overlooked you when lined up next to those names? And if these people do think that, first of all they are nuts but what would you say to anyone who thinks GoodCat is "Just another name"?
GoodCat:
People may overlook me but honestly I'd rather have it that way. There have been some guys that referred to me as "the forgotten member of JKA", but I think my recent run speaks for itself. We have enough guys on our team to do the trash talk and I leave that to them. And I suck at talking crap anyways.
Question:
With 4 KO wins, 6 Submission wins, and only 1 decision victory.... are we looking at a night of fireworks for GoodCat? Looking back you have only been to ONE decision and that was your last fight against Gordon. Is it safe to say you are a risk taker and will go out looking for a big finish?
GoodCat:
Yeah, you could say I like to take risks sometimes. I've learned over the past couple of months to not take so many risks and pick with your head sometimes instead of your heart. Doing that has cost me in the past and it's also put me over the top. I don't want to be a conservative fighter though, and if I have a feeling about a particular fight I'm gonna go with my gut for the most part.
Question:
7 wins out of your last 9 fights, you possibly have more momentum coming into the finals over any other fighter! So what do you think that has icanthear thinking right now? If you had anything to say to him to let him know just what is going down at JFC 23 what would you tell him?
GoodCat:
icanthear, I really respect you as a fighter and a poster. But come Saturday, you are standing in my way from not only a GP Championship, but also a top 10 ranking. Sorry man, it's nothing personal, but I'm gonna have to destroy you.
Question:
I'm asking everyone this one, what is your prediction on the tally for the Finals of the tournament being? 6-0 victory? 3-3 shootout? How will it all go down my man?
GoodCat:
Man, that's a tough question cause you never know how the other team is gonna pick. Basing it off of both teams performances in the GP, I wouldn't be surprised if it went 3-3 and came to points. But I honestly would love to take the 6-0 sweep cause I don't wanna see any of my teammates lose.

Question:
After clawing your way through the competition in rounds 1, 2, and 3 you walk into the final round with a 2-1 record with both of your wins being huge Knockout victories. One over 10thPlanetJJ in round one, and you came up with a big KO over Dublindevil83 in round two of the tournament. Though in round three you lost a close 5 point decision to Coach G, if that going to be messing with the rhythm that you had going in the tournament? Do you believe you can bounce back and perhaps come up with another knockout victory, this time being over JKA's own, GoodCat?
icanthear:
My rhythm is right where it needs to be. I fully expect to walk away with a highlight reel KO against Goodcat. I just hope the medical staff can get him to the hospital quickly enough to preserve some of his brain function.
Question:
Coming up to JFC 23 there seem to be a few really rough fights to predict, which one do you think will really give your opponent GoodCat serious trouble?
icanthear:
I’m not concerned with Goodcat’s training for this fight. I’m working my a$$ off to prepare myself and my teammates. He better come prepared, because I am.
Question:
Now that you and the rest of Art of War have made it to the big show and have landed yourself in the finals how are you thinking about playing this fight out? Are you going to go in guns a blazin' and make some risky picks looking for all the glory? Or are you thinking more about playing it conservative and grind out a possible decision victory?
icanthear:
The goal of this and any fight is to impose my will. I plan on taking all of Goodcat’s 9 lives. I enter the arena to punish my opponent. I going to punish him for thinking he has a chance against me. Goodcat, YOU HAVE NO CHANCE!
Question:
It's plain as day that Art of War has been the favorites in each round thus far in the Team GP but now that you are going up against the #1 seeded JKA you have been placed in the underdog seat! Is the pressure getting to you yet buddy?
icanthear:
There is no pressure, I am the better fighter and AoW is the better team. Those punks at JKA have been running their mouths’ for months and it all ends on the 21st.
Question:
Say you are victorious in this fight, how much would it mean to you if AoW goes on to win the 2009 Team GP Championship and you played a part in that victory? Where would it place in you JFC career thusfar?
icanthear:
My win over Goodcat means little without walking away as Team GP Champions. A team championship and bringing the belt home with Cast are what is most important. Winning the GP will rank as my greatest JFC accomplishment.
Question:
How do you see the final outcome of the tournament playing out? I want to hear a number..... 6-0? 5-1? 4-2? 3-3 slugfest? How do you see things playing out on the 21st and which side of those numbers will your fight be on!?!
icanthear:
6-0 AoW dominates. We’re going to show JKA to their rightful place as our bitches. When each of them wakes up from their brutal KO, we’re going to backhand them and send them to get us beers. That’s how it’s going to play out on the 21st.

Favorite JFC Victory!?!

Up to this point it has to be the fight of the year match against my teammate Avonbarksdale. That was actually the 2nd fight of our trilogy. To this day I’m not sure any other JFC rivalry can match what we had. After round 3 we buried the hatchet and now we are fortunate enough to be part of the best team in JFC history.

- With both fighters coming into this fight with a 4-1 record in their previous 5 fights this looks to be a dream match up on paper! Both have built their selves up quite well but only one man can walk away from this battle with the victory. icanthear isn't worried about coming off of a lost in his last contest but he going against a GoodCat who is perfect thus far in the Team GP!
- This fight will be one to watch for sure, we predict this will be the closest fight out of all 6, it will just come down to who wanted it more. Both men know this could very well be their biggest win of their career if it goes on to help his team win the Team GP Championship so they will pull out all the stops to prove themselves to their camp.
- We believe both men will nail the same predictions correct and it will all come down to rounds and decisions..... something that all JFC fighters truly dread! It will be close no doubt about it, but this is what we are rolling with in hopes that this lives up to Fight of the Night standards!!!!
