While that helps, Christian Bale didn't need size. And Keaton pulled it off, even though he was a better Bruce Wayne than Batman. And that's the tough part with casting Batman - needing someone who can be both.

I'm still trying to think of my pick for young Batman, but I actually really like Tito's Josh Hartnett pick.

So, I had a wild casting for a Batman Beyond movie. This was before the Flash, ike 10 years ago maybe.
Michael Keton repriss his role as old Bruce Wayne and a race swap for Michael B. Jordan as Terry.

This is also why I kinda ain't invested in superhero performances. There's an underlying expectation or image for the role. Where a failed original and who can do it better, or recasting a perfect OC is more interesting to me.

Like, replace Leo in Gangs of New York with Intermission Colin Farrell or Romper Stomper Russell Crowe. But who can do No Country for Old Men if Bardem isn't available. If Bruce Willis is busy, who deadpans his way through the 5th element with the correct gravitas? Thats more fun to me because there's only 1 cultural reference so the imagination can get broader

I'm joking.
JDM is one of those actors who has a hard time escaping his own aura. He was the perfect vibe for The Comedian in Watchmen.
But the only Batman I think about casting him for would be the Frank Miller Dark Knight returns version.
