Experiencing a crisis of self, a man leaves his home behind and travels the big blue-green ball. A stranger in a strange land, he comes across a quaint and remote village, where the air is clean, the wifi connectivity is surprisingly good and the people are friendly and helpful. The man feels a strange sense of belonging, like he's searched for this place all his life despite never knowing it existed. After only a short glimpse of what the town has to offer, he quickly decides this will be his new home.
The man is welcomed by the village Elder, and given a tour. As the Elder walks him around, he weaves a rich story about each building, each inhabitant, past and present. Finally, the Elder concludes the tour at an immense stone Well, located in the center of town. The Elder smiles, and says "This well is by far the most special part of this village. In fact, I'd say that it's power is the reason you were drawn to this place. On any day of the week except for Wednesday, you can come to The Well, shout any question you'd like down it, and receive an answer to your question."
Full of a mixture of skepticism and wonderment, the man asks the Elder "Why any day but Wednesday?" The elder beams a radiant smile as a voice booms from the bottom of The Well: "Because on Wednesday it's your turn to be in The Well!"
The Rules:
Ask any question down the Well and receive an answer
Serious, funny, off the wall, ridiculous, anything is game (as long as it doesn't break the rules of the site). You may not like the answer you receive. And the answer doesn't have to be direct, or correct, or accurate -- for example, "That's none of your business" is a perfectly acceptable answer. However, being as forthcoming and as engaging as possible is what makes The Well great.
Only one person in The Well at a time.
This means no one answers questions in The Well thread except the person in The Well.
This also means that only one The Well thread will be allowed to be active at any one time.
The current occupant of The Well gets to choose the next occupant.
However, being in The Well is voluntary. If you'd like to volunteer, you can PM the person in The Well to ask to be nominated (best not to post volunteers in The Well thread, save the thread for questions and answers), or the person in The Well can PM you to see if you will agree to take a turn. Peer pressure is allowed and encouraged but no one can force you in to The Well.

First question:
Why is Spam so popular in Hawaii but nowhere else?

Does the "hang loose" hand gesture have any cultural significance? Or is it just a Hawaii thing?
Would you call meatmallet a silly haole? I would.

You know what? I have no idea.......ok, wait, I guess I do.
We grow up eating it, the tradition perpuates itselfs in family recipes or "go to" meals. We always have spam in Saimin, it is not the same with spam. It's cheap and tasty and extremely easy to incorpate into menus, at least here. My mother in law does spam, cabbage and onions.
McDonald's and Burger King serve Spam, Eggs and Rice platters on our breakfast meals.
Our easy snack for fishing is spam musubi and my daughter made up her own, Spam Chips, where you basically just nuke the heck outa the spam in the microwave to where its a crispy treat, lol.
Heck, this is just one of a couple Spam recipe books, lol

Good question, I had to search actually, it's almost turned into a surfer thing really, nowadays anyways, but over here, its the Shaka.
One theory according to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, prevailing local lore credited the gesture to Hamana Kalili of Laie, who lost the three middle fingers of his right hand while working at the Kahuku Sugar Mill. Kalili was then shifted to guarding the sugar train, and his all-clear wave of thumb and pinkie is said to have evolved over the years into the "shaka".
So not really cultural, more of a way to just say "It's all Good"

I would've prefered it to be GSP vs BJ...plain and simple, I dont really care when they bring nationality into it. But if they had to, yes it SHOULD have been Canada vs the U.S.

He popped my cherry
hahahaha...seriously tho, he was the first fighter I ever met, and this HOT chick was trying to hit on him and he was nice, answered her question and then gave me all the attention a FAN would want, say him again at another fight durring the autograph session and then again at the FC party, and when I said I didnt want to bug him cause he took a pix with me earlier, he said "no, no, let's take another" and then in ATL, he actually talked first when we saw him and he said "I remember you" from there, it's been purely a platonic love affair, lol. Fight wise, I love his more cerebal strategies, right up until the BJ fight, Kenny, keith & Marc were able to come up with the right strategies to beat who he was fighting, I love the dedication to the sport, he's obviously a fan, he doesn't begrudge the celebrity status that comes with what he does..........are you sorry you asked? LOL
how are you doing with quiting smoking?
Umm....I'm cheating
but I started excersising so that will have to stop real soon too
whats the craziest thing you ever seen/done?
270 lb Marlin stabbing my husband in the leg, 10 miles from shore
without searching : how many female junkies are there?
Eight? I know there are 5 of us that regulary post in the OT
what hobbies did/do you have that we DONT know about?
Hmm...drag racing, before the closed the track
ever do anything mean?
geeez...um...probably just the usual catty stuff girls do in school, talking about others, etc, I don't think I've ever set out to hurt someone tho
ever drink mexican soda?
no clue what that is
ever drink anything from mexico?
not that I know of
have nyou ever lived anywhere else?

Anywhere from $400-1,000. My preferred seating is floor, aisle seats on fighter entrance side, or first level off floor, fighters entrance or exit end, front row only. Although at UFC 100, we sat up in the upper level for the fights cause I spent all my money on Ultimate VIP expo tickets, lol
I'm short, hubby's not much taller, so we try to be picky so our night isn't ruined by all you giants. If I have to buy off a scalper to get what I want, I will.

Weather's been ok lately, we had a bad storm blow thru on Friday, flash flood watch and everything, a little ponding on the freeways, etc, but cleared up nicely. Running still in the upper 80's low 90's, not getting cold yet, thankfully.
I'm working tomorrow. We only have 6 official holidays at work.

LOL grapple, there are tons of things I don't do, be more specific
and that's just how I roll, I've got enough stress and drama in my own life, why in the world would I look/start or get involved in an internet thing?
More people need to remember that IMO means In My Opinion and not just some letters thrown together. You can't argue with someone over their opinion, it's almost pointless
