Bummer, but at least Brown is actually getting a fighter off a win (also on a nice little win streak) which makes this fight make more sense than the original Alves match that was just made for excitement

WHY GOD WHY GOD DAMMIT?!!!!
Pyles a dead man, not a clever fight for him to take at short notice, Browns on a roll at the moment and will have an answer for all of Mikes strengths IMO

Fuuuuuuuuck!!!!! I was just starting to really sink my teeth into my own personal hype up for this fight
and to make it worse, yet another match up featuring fighters I like a lot going up against each other. Oh well, I just hope they put on a fight of the night type fight regardless who wins. I guess I gotta pick one but I'll wait till the fight is surely gonna happen first. Never know Matt could get injured training before THIS fight takes place

Pyle is a lot better than Brown is almost every area of the game, he just has to get past Brown's overall toughness and not brawl

Pffffft...Mike Brown is the man to defeat GSP and you think Mike Pyle has a chance?

Both guys are on decent runs. Pyle's got a 4 fight streak going, even though he got the s--- beat out of him against Story and shouldn't have got the win. Brown is on a five fight winning streak so they're close in the rankings and the fight makes enough sense.
I was looking forward to Alves/Brown but, Brown being on a five fight winning streak and Alves being 2-4 in his last six, it didnt make much sense. Other than it would have been a hell of an exciting fight.

Damn, I was really looking forward to Brown/Alves. This one's a little tougher to predict. If it stays on the feet I give it to Matt, but if it goes to the ground it's all Pyle.
Edit - I still think Alves off of a loss and a layoff would have been a greater test for Brown than Pyle on a winning streak.

Brown might have a chance against GSP after Hendricks puts him to sleep.

IMHO I like this fight better. Both guys have been active and on winning streaks.
Pyle has been crowing about being on the prelims, now he gets to be on the main card of UFC's debut on Fox Sports 1 against a guy on a five fight winning streak.
You got what you wanted Pyle, time to put up shut up.
Honestly I like this fight better. Alves was a guy on the decline. This is a better match-up IMHO for both guys.

ranking wise i agree this is a better matchup. I'm still disappointed because Brown/Alves was gonna be a war but this should be very entertaining also

This fight IMHO has just as equal chance of being a war. And I would say its from two guys who have been more active and impressive as of late.
Thiago Alves hasn't been a contender for a long time. He's 2-4 in his last six with his two wins being against John Howard and Papy Abedi. He hasn't been at contender level in 3-4 years.
I like this fight more because its two guys who have been winning impressively as of late and on a tear (though Pyle's last win was pretty close but what'evs, Story tried to lay and pray to a win).

yup both men on good winning streaks, winner of this fight deserves a top 10 fight
as for Pyle/Story i agreed with the decision, i had it 29-28 Pyle for his sub attempts in the second when Story did nothing from the top position
