I think this fight makes the most sense for both guys. Neither are really in contention for a title shot, but both are considered legends of the sport. The past few years Franklin has only been fighting former champions, but there are a few names missing from that list. Randy Couture (which can't happen now) and Tito Ortiz. Does this fight make sense to you? If so, who wins?
If you agree this would be a good fight, join me in tweeting @danawhite to make it happen!

i think everyone agrees. makes eprfect sense. the only thing is tito is going to need some time off and i assume rich wants to get in there ASAP. but if the timing works....good fight

Send Franklin and Ortiz to Strikeforce and get them to fight for the LHW Strikeforce Title maybe

Tito really didn't look that bad last night. Tito wins.

The way things are going, I don't think ZUFFA is too interested in pumping talent into Strikeforce.

If they bin Strikeforce though we will need a weekly UFC event to accommodate all the talent or there could be a WWE style weekly short show then a ppv every month ....... LOL ..... although now i mention it may be quite cool

bigrich fan here
I think Rich loses a decision. This fight would play out very similar to Ortiz/Griffin 2.
Rich is too small for 205 and Ortiz is one of hte biggest 205ers

Franklin. No doubt. Tito would've manhandled him in his prime, but he's a shell of his former self. Can't execute those explosive take downs like he used to. Which is understandable considering what his back has been through.

This is a fight I'd like to see. Two former champs coming off loses who both have huge name value. It just a question if Rich wants to wait that long for Tito to be cleared.
Tito just stepped up huge for the UFC and it derailed any momentum he had coming off the win over Bader. I think he deserves another fight with a solid name.
