Does anyone know a true estimate of what it would cost to live a comfortable lifestyle in Thailand... a possible yearly estimate for costs to live, eat, maybe buy a home, and all the extra's to live a real comfortable and enjoyable life out there?
I appreciate any legit info... Thank you.

A good friend of mine lives in Bangkok and teaches English and gets by rather comfortably on $1200 US a month. He bought a nice apartment in a nicer neighborhood, eats out every day and drinks a ton. Prices do rise over there if your in a tourist heavy area like Phuket (which does have a few good gyms if I recall right). Not exactly the complete info you're after but hope it helps. The training costs should be easy to find out when you sort out where you want to be and which gyms are of interest to you. I'd think you could get by
very well
for a year on 40 - 50k. If you go a bit more budget 20-25k is probably doable.
When I was in Phuket about 10 years ago we went to Muay Thai fights almost every day at this open air bar with a full ring and seating for like 200 people. Two Thai kids put on a hell of a fight and we went and gave them 50 bucks each for the show and they were so stoked. Not sure if the place still exists after the tsunami but it was awesome.

Don't know much details exactly, but I've been looking into countries to move to on the cheap down the road myself. Here is a great read to give you an idea of costs for things like rent, electricity and anything else. http://www.siam-info.de/english/cost_of_living_.html
The site was just updated so the costs are current.
From the article it states that the Thai immigration office estimates that a foreigner should have a monthly income of 65,000 Thai Baht which is about $2100. But that price included everything(including entertainment) and living pretty comfortable. Your living situation could be much cheaper depending on what you are need, ya know?
A nice 2 bed/2bath furnished home(not in a tourist area) would run you around $400 a month on average-and you can get cheaper..
That's all I got.

If you live in the big city it can be a bit more expensive. Iv been to Thailand 10 times and getting out of the city you find that it doesn't take much to live there. At my old Thai school a close friend of mine went there, then decided to move there. There isnt a lot of ways to make money there but he would work in the states for 3 months out of the year and spent the rest of his time in Thailand and lived very comfortable. If you can make between 30k-50k you will be living very comfortable. My old Muay Thai instructor's brother was a Muay Thai fighter out there made good money and his house was seriously a mansion which cost around 125k US. Hope this helps.

It's as cheap as you want it to be
You could survive on pretty much 20 dollars a day if you wanted (3 meals and drink)

I'm sure that depends on the amount of time spent, services rendered, the city or neighborhood itself, whether you know any locals to arrange a discount, and the overall quality of the product.
So I hear...

My cousin just went out there for 2 months last summer and had the time of his life. No idea on the cost of loving but he was staying in decent hotels for like 30 bucks Canadian a night. He was surprised by how cheap it was and he wants to move up for a year or so

Depends where. If you're not working, go to the Islands. Koh Lanta is my favorite, I've spent 8 months there on 2 occasions. It's amazing. Lots of Muay Thai as well. $50 a day is plenty comfortable for rent, food and motorbike. The more you spend after that, the more you will get.
