Well, I think just like some ppl, TUF should be about discovering new talent, not already stablished guys like Roy...
And I see no way for kimbo to win the contest... he's the smallest HW and he aint no jitz wizard nor has some incredible technical striking, so he's going to get his *** kick big time... I think Roy will win the season...

If this is indeed the cast then TUF 10 will be incredibly stacked.
I also disagree with people who say TUF should be used to discover raw talent. I see it as a competition for anyone without a UFC contract that wants a chance to earn one. It's also a great way for the UFC to introduce lesser known but skilled fighters to the general audience, instead of having them fly under the radar on under cards.

well, how about the next season we have Werdum, AA, Mousasi, Babalu, Vitor.. and the Next Jacare, Manhoef, Barnett etc etc, there is a lot of talent outside the UFC, there will be totally unfair for the new kids trying to get into the UFC to be fighting those guys, not to mention that TUF has been always the bigger pool talent for the UFC, and that will be totally shut if stablished fighters start to come to the show.

Something tells me if those guys want to fight for the UFC they won't need to go through TUF. However if that's something they want to do to earn their contract... I'll def watch.

^ and most of those guys would get GIPPED on money if they accepted the measly 100k that comes with winning TUF. they all could make more than that, most likely, in one fight somewhere else.

sorry but that isnt true or even close to be true, only affliction pays that much, but Werdum was cut from the UFC because his contract was 100 k per fight and he wanted to keep it like that. Actually very very few fighters make over 100 k per fight, and that's even in the UFC... 100 k per fight is good money, and very few MMA fighters do that kind of money in MMA...

i would bet mayhem or Jacare makes near that in Japan, without going through the bulls--- of being on TUF.
have you ever heard interviews from former castmembers? they hated it. why would any estbablished fighters like mayhem, jacare OR werdum ever go through that when they can make find money fighting else where?
i doubt i have you tell you this rage, but the UFC isn't the only worthwhile organization i nthe world.

Dude, if theres someone that agree on with that in this forum, IS ME for sure... but well, jakare might make that Mayhem I dont think so... If you do that then people will complain that there is no good talent on TUF. I say let them all compete. Jason Guida had like a 20-19 record when he was on TUF. I dont mind TUF showcasing only up and comers, but then again, i just like to see freee fights every week. But if someone like Roy Nelson wants to get into the UFC and Joe Sylvia isn't calling him, TUF may be his only option. Not much you can do.

Imagine if Guida won the season, who would've been exited to watch a guy who's 23-19??? is that the future of the UFC?? and Guida probably had a good shot at wining the show, as much as he sucks, he has been fighting for a while, and beating noobs around, and most TUF guys are just starting, some with talent, some with not so much... but that would have been a disaster for the UFC...

You're talking like MMA is a mainstream sport. Those "already known" fighters are already known to hard core MMA fans. Casual fans who are tuning in to watch some free MMA fights on Spike probably have no idea who most of those guys are. God forbid TUF has people who DESERVE a 6 figure contract instead of a bunch of nobodies who have been fighting at local shows for a year or two. Guys like Roy Nelson have been paying their dues in the MMA game and if they chose to compete in TUF for a contract, good for them.

I think Brendan Schaub will turn some heads, he is freakishly athletic and is a pretty well rounded fighter, only knock in him is level of competition. he trains with Carwin

Wouldn't it seem that the longer this TUF series goes on, finding "undiscovered" up and comers will just keep getting more and more difficult? When you consider how many other organizations are out there now... and the ones that were already there are getting bigger, the number of available "up and comers" has to be significantly smaller.
Besides, the biggest knock on the UFC the last few years has been how lean the HW division is. Take the recent rise of Carwin/Dos Santos/Lesnar, the signing of Big Nog, the reemergence of Frank Mir, throw in a few of the TUF 10 guys who impress and the HW division isn't looking so shabby.
Then again, with the recent showings by AA and Sylvia, maybe the UFC HW's weren't so bad after all??

i like this way alot better. Guys that (for the most part) have proven they could fight and they could potentially become stars. Look at Season one and two, Those guys were all established in the smaller orgs, and proved they could fight, I dont think that its a coincidence that the cast members from those season have made the biggest impact and have been the most successful. If they add guys that havent earned the right to even compete for the UFC then what is that acomplishing? All its doing is ruining and harming young fighters. This show should be for guys that are one the cusp of making the UFC. Not figters who are just starting out and trying to make a name.

The Tuf winners don't earn 100k per fight..... Neither Sanchez, Stevenson or Nate in their last fights at the tuf 9 finale earned 100k. My guess would be the only guys making atleast 100k a fight are Rashad and Forrest for obvious reasons.
Sanchez got 90k, Stevenson got 70k and Nate got 20k.

The winners of the first three seasons of The Ultimate Fighter competition, and certain runners-up depending on their performance in their competition finals, receive the touted "six-figure" contract to fight in the UFC. These contracts are specifically three-year contracts with a guaranteed first year. Each year consists of three fights, the first year's purse per fight consists of $12,000 guaranteed with a $12,000 win bonus (a maximum of $24,000 per fight), the second year's purse per fight is $16,000 with a $16,000 win bonus (a maximum of $32,000 per fight) and the third year's purse per fight is at $22,000 with a $22,000 win bonus (a maximum of $44,000 per fight). A TUF winner who goes 9-0 can earn $300,000 total on the contract, but only $150,000 is guaranteed for all three years if 9 fights are fought.

Brandon Vera even skipped out on joining tuf 2, because he felt he would be losing money by recieving that contract. He was making 200k a fight until recently.
