That's a bold statement... or is it? The only 2 fights confirmed right now are the GSP vs Hardy and Mir vs Carwin.
The Mir vs Carwin match is huge in itself, but even moreso if Brock is going to be sidelined for an extended period of time.
Champ Georges St-Pierre vs. Dan Hardy (for welterweight title)
Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir (possibly for interim heavyweight title)

It's pretty close to equal. I'm just hoping this one stays in tact and isn't trashed by injuries. I've prevented myself from getting too excited about these fights until the fighters actually step into the cage.

It made me wonder if the UFC should do a sort of balls out show every year like ufc 100, with 2 championship matches, and other good matchups.
Alves vs fitch is good, and yeah... Daley vs Koscheck would also be good. sort of a semi-final #1 contender tourny.
They should get Dos Santos on the card too. I think it's a good idea to showcase top contenders so that people get pumped to see them challenge for the championship.

It's not better than UFC 100. Not all that close either.
It's an easy comparison because of the fighters involved.
Who is a better challenger for GSP? Thiago Alves (100) or Dan Hardy (111)?
Who is better, Brock Lesnar (100) or Shane Carwin (111)?
Two pretty easy questions that clearly illustrate the difference in quality between the two cards.
Maybe there will be some fights added to 111 to make up the difference, but right now, it's an easy choice.

GSP vs Hardy = Title shot
Mir vs Carwin = Title shot. I'm not going to discount the interim belt because brock is on the shelf and we have no idea for how long.
alves vs fitch = top 170 contender matchup. Winner should probably fight winner of Daley vs Kos to determine #1 contender.
UFC 100 was huge, but it seemed to go by pretty fast to me.
Akiyama vs Belcher good fight.
Hendo vs Bisbing KO of the year
GSP vs Alves classic GSP
Brock vs Mir II Brock man handling, scared of mir's standup!
Fitch vs Thiago decision? idk. swing bout that happened after main event... bad timing for this match.

I think they should throw Rampage vs Rashad and Florian vs Gomi on there. I feel like the UFC should make up for the 106, 108 and 109 main events. Not saying they weren't exciting fights just saying they weren't PPV worthy.

I'm still thinking about getting 109. I know I just said that it's not PPV worthy but the last 3 I paid for was 102, 104, and 107. I really enjoy hanging out and watching the event so I'm tempted to just get it regardless of who is on it. The main event sucks but the rest of the card is solid.
I'm not going to try to organize some boycott against the UFC. If I don't like it I won't buy if and you all can do whatever the hell you want. If the product really is that bad then we don't need to make it a point to boycott it, people just won't buy it.

I know. My buddy Josh isn't a big MMA fan, he's more of a boxing fan. He buys all the big boxing events, even the small ones and also buys the UFC ppv's only because he loves to have people over to this house, and it only ends up costing him like 20 bucks for food because eveyone pitches in for the PPV. If there's a reason to get the guys together and BBQ and drink beer all night, he'll buy PPV's twice a month.

I guess im the only one that thought UFC 100 wasn't all that great. It had some interestng match ups, but the fights didn't deliver IMO (except Hendo :lol: ). I think UFC 111 has potential to be huge, the fights haven't even been announced yet so I think we're jumping the gun a little quickly by saying it will be equal to or better than 100. The build up and anticipation to UFC 100 was bigger than any other sporting event i've ever experienced.
