Not to be a downer, but it does matter where you're sitting.
Seats any good?
I heard cage side is like $2500.

Cageside is good, but only if you're in the first 3-5 rows, imo. First level that is non-floor, have the best seats in the house if you can get somewhat close(unless you're in the mentioned first few cageside rows), imo and you save so much money.

I've been to a few events, and I've always been in the area you're describing. 1st or 2nd row just above the floor.
If you show up for the prelims, most of the seats down there are empty, and you can just move down.
On second thought, I did go to WEC 51, and I was on the 2nd level, and had a horrible view of the fights. It was cool, but for the sake of watching the actual fight... I couldn't see sh*t

Yep. Best seats in the house, imo, especially if you're center cage!
I've experienced that as well. Same as being way back on the floor seats, couldn't see crap once the fight hit the ground. Pretty pointless to pay good money and see nothing, at least with crap seats, you can justify not seeing nothing by paying little $$$

Vegas is f---ing insane dude, you will have an incredible time. I'd suggest going for more than just a weekend. Try to extend it out to at least 4 days if you can. Lots to see and do.

Yeah man, I'm flying in on the 27th and staying untill Jan. 1st. New years baby!!!
I paid $200/ticket. Section 216...so one section off center on the upper bowl. I've been to UFC 129 and sat in the nosebleeds of the 55,000 arena though and still had a great time, so I'm not too worried about it.

Anymore than 4 days in Vegas and your soul needs a month to recover.
I've been three times with just "the guys"..... and I've learned there are right and wrong ways to do Vegas.
The golden rule: Drink, have fun, but
get some sleep.
The first time I went to Vegas, I was there for 4 days, and was up until like 10 or 11 am every single day. I was either hungover or drunk the entire time, and to be honest.... didn't really enjoy it.
The second time, I hit the sack around midnight, and actually slept. Got up and partied in the morning and all through the day. It was a lot more fun.
Also..... Freemont is pretty sketchy at 3-4 in the morning.

Goes to show how cool Vegas is when I actually went there for my honeymoon! My wife and I just walked around in mid-July (stayed at Bellagio) and checked out the touristy stuff. Never made it out to the Dam or Canyon though. One thing we kinda regret. We never even made it to old Vegas either. It was such an amazing experience for both of us regardless. The casinos are f---ing amazing - especially Caesars (with the mall) and Bellagio. Loved the Mirage as well.

Yea the Casinos are pretty incredible. There are a few new ones that were completed in the last few years and they're supposed to be the bees knees.
I was there just after they had opened, but didn't make it in.
@Galorian: If you want to gamble and drink for much less. Hit up Casino Royale (across from Treasure Island). It's a little hole in the wall casino with $1 Michelobs ALL DAY errr day.

I rigged much of the cosmo surveillance system. The place is just amazing. Their pool is elevated from the strip, so you have perfect views around you while still feeling secluded.

@coreymb
How was living in Vegas? I'm half tempted to move back that way in a few years in an effort to work for the UFC.
I've lived in Idaho, Colorado, and now DC... and I gotta say.... DC is by far my least favorite. Ready to relocate again.

If you don't mind 4 1/2 to 5 months of crazy heat, it's not bad. I personally don't like the climate, but compared to the cost of living in California, I wouldn't mind going back to Vegas. Surprisingly, Vegas is now very affordable, easy to get around and always something to do. The economy still isn't the great, but if you're not picky, there are plenty of options to make good money. I've stayed in CO for awhile(both in Boulder and Longmont area-it was nice).

Boulder's awesome. I lived in Aurora and Denver.
At least it's dry heat. It's a f*cking swamp here. I hate humidity more than I hate heat.
