The UFC have taken over the contracts of around twenty Affliction fighters following their collapse last Friday, with rumours beginning to circulate that there could be a few big names involved.
According to InsideFights.com a Zuffa official revealed the news to them earlier this week, with the two promotions coming to the agreement that Affliction would stop promoting MMA events.
With the likes of Gegard Mousasi, Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Jay Hieron involved with the Strikeforce promotion, these fighters are highly unlikely to be among the names set to be announced on Friday during the media conference call.

I didn't even know Affliction even had 20 guys on their roster.

Ha I was thinking the same thing, I kinda doubt it though, unless the UFC has a network tv deal, and can now expand their base of fighters, other than afflictions core selling fighters, most weren't ready for the UFC IMO. I hope they got Baby Fedor Though!

Since the net is flooding with bs rumors, if this happens to be true, it is funny that besides Belfort who has already publicly stated his wanting to fight in the UFC, the other half decent names are Mousasi, Sobral, Hieron and maybe Horodecki and not a whole lot beyond that.
Yvel? Buentello? Rothwell? Gomi? Daley? Vasquez?
I like those fighters somewhat(probably Yvel and Daley most), i just hope not to see them in the UFC.

Just read on bloodyelbow that Belfort was absorbed by the UFC ...
There is one silver lining. Gross also reports that Vitor Belfort had an exclusive world-wide contract with Affliction and his contract will transfer directly to the UFC. Vitor vs Wanderlei II isn't quite Fedor vs Lesnar, but it's certainly something to look forward to.

Here is the issue here guys...so many of the non major sites (major being weekly, sherdog, junkie, yahoo and a few others) are picking up the news from everywqhere and claiming they have4 their own sources.
2 or 3 of them picked up my troll job the other day about Shileds vs Santiago...
If its not coming from weekly, junkie, sherdog, yahoo or someone else reliable then it may be speculative with sites wanting to say they were the first to report it.
Its sad cause they are turning this s--- into a joke.
They took my troll job from weekly and posted it as "a source close to affliction"

Everything is blowing up thats for sure, i wont quite believe anything until its said from either Fedor or Dana.
But you have to admit, the Fedor rumours are starting to become a little to large to ignore. Hopefully tomorrow he will shed some like on this situation. Im hoping he either announces hes signed with the UFC, or Strikeforce. Or him leaving M1

Key word in this sentence. Everything that we are hearing right now, is NOT based on fact, but on pure speculation (maybe educated, but still speculation). The best thing to do, is really sit down, and get ready for some REALLY big news tomorrow and friday. Personally, I hope its something MAJOR, aside from Tito and Dana being friends again.

Everyones hopes of Fedor signing with the UFC are starting to fade, who is the UFC getting from this? Vitor is fighting someone in Brazil soon, there really isnt HUGE names they could sign.
