UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Duncan

They called a ultra uber casual
Someone that gets up at 6AM on fight day, that cannot sleep on Saturday afternoons no matter hard they try and can’t stay up for 25 hours when the last fight is over.
Please. I was staying up every single weekend 20 year ago for about 15 years. When you get to my age young man you’ll find it very hard to function enough to stay up. I know 3 people in my orbit that has happened the exact same.

but he did warn him in between rounds.
Does not matter if he pocked him there.
It only seems harsh, because no ref. punishes it the way it should be punished.
Warning in the locker room. Point taken in the cage. Otherwise it will never stop.
I was really happy he did take the point.
I’m sorry but when did he warn him when he poked him ONCE? I never heard a single warning during the fight before he did it. Fight stamp of a warning before the eye poke please? Thanks.

4, count me in homie. I can't stay up very late anymore but I'm up and prowling at 330-4am every damn day. IDGAF what's on, I'll watch it pre-dawn. fuck that bullshit, you can have the late night, I'll take the wee hours when no one is up and the world is all mine.

I thought that point deduction in the second round on CLD was very harsh indeed. He only poked him once, Goddard said he warned him about a few eye pokes but in the first round when Allen was complaining, it wasn’t in the eyes, it was on the mouth. Goddard fucked up there and could’ve warned him if it happens again then I’ll have to deduct a point.
Fuck that you commit a foul you get a point deduction

Why do we need all these warnings for something they all know is against the rules? Why are there rules if they need to be broken again and again for a mesely point leaving the opponent hurt?

bc the punishment doesn't always fit the crime. losing 1 point is enough to lose the whole fight if it's close, or cause a draw for the almost-loser if it isn't.

the egregious ones - sure. but the CLD one last night didn't rise to that IMO

when he took the point he told him:"I warned you not to get me involved! I warned you before the fight and i warned you inbetween the rounds!"
Yeah he did not poke Allen, but pointing the finger is the foul already.

But what is an egregious one?
Eyepokes are always aweful.
If you only take a point, if it hurt more than most pokes you get this cinema:

The eye didn't fall on the ground so no point deduction. The 3 seconds rules applies even if it falls on the ground.

With that logic does that mean fighters should stop kneeing in the sternum just in case 1 out of 10 accidentally hits the cup? I get it you need to be in charge of your weapons but shit happens, accidents happen. The eye pokes are unfortunate and it still pisses me off that the Pride gloves would stop this madness. The hands out is a Muay Thai thing, the fingers out is extra protection for the face and palms out is to keep you at distance, but he never got warned enough DURING the fight to get an instant point reduction. If he did then I’ll need to see it again, but HKOG says I’m a casual so no I don’t want to watch it again.

If was happening frequently then of course you should get the point deduction but he didn’t. He had his hand over Allen’s mouth in the first round and Allen complained to the referee about it but it was nowhere near his eyes. That probably stuck in Goddards head.

I didn’t hear the warnings during the fight before the eye pokes. I’ll try to watch it again today if I have time and I’ll get back to ya.
