The truth is I'm NJ born and raised. Visit my friends and family there probably 4 times a year. But I've lived the last 20 years in Alabama. Never going back. Most of my adult life has been here and I enjoy it (as much as a depressed sociopath can enjoy anything).

I'm probably moving to NJ or Long Island within the next decade. Wife and I been visiting North Jersey and Nassau and Suffolk County to see the various towns. We make the drive to Monmouth County often (mostly Long Branch).

I grew up in Monmouth County until I was forced to leave at 25 years old. Best place in the world to live (besides the standard insane property taxes). I was a bike ride away from Belmar as a kid. The area is incredible and still where I visit my friends and family.
 
Hit me up for real if you ever want to talk about moving there. I can recommend some gems. When I was young Long Branch and Asbury Park were basically ghettos. Now they ask for $1,200/night in the summer for hotels. I'm sure you're familiar with the area but that's my shit. I can assist.

I might do that. They opened a meadery (Beach Bee Meadery) in Long Branch, not far from the windmill. We get several bottles back to the city every time we visit.
