Since the UFC will be absorbing the Strikeforce HW division I think 2012 is the time to adjust the Heavyweight division. I know people speak of a cruiserweight division, but I would prefer a super heavyweight division.
I say change heavyweight to 220-245 and then make a Super Heavyweight division that goes from 260+.
So what do you guys think?

Not 220 to 245. I would think 235lb class makes the most sense.

UFC absorbing the Strikeforce heavyweight division really only translates to UFC gaining a handful a fighters. With Lesnar retiring, I don't really see there being enough gigantic, talented guys to make an entire division.

Name me ten decent guys that weigh 260+ ?
There's just not enough depth. If the guys weighing 220-245 are having issues (currently they are not) they could cut to LHW or put on mass.

this. the UFC HW division is already to smallest in terms of number of fighters. there's just not enough guys to make another new division Dana says this all the time and it's the truth. tho I think I still see the same thread every month.

Said it before and ill say it again, what benefit would there be??
There were only a few guys that actually had to cut weight and one of them is retired(Lesnar) and another is most likely on his way out(Carwin).
You seriously wanna make a new weight class for who exactly??
I really think this is one of the worst ideas

The current 265 pound champion is a 235 pound fighter........ Cutting the division down to to less than 265 for the max is pointless. And most of the guys at the higher end of that weightclass would end up just cutting down..... Mir, for example, would easily be able to cut down to 245, or even 235. And then, you lose out on a bunch of the fighters that would have been targeted for that weightclass.

Just not enough good top level talent to do it imo, making these would hurt both LHW and HW so i don't think so, atm in MMA i think the divisons are right because of the number of "top" fighters that are currently competeing, adding more between the ones we have would do more harm than good.

I've said it for ages there just isn't enough guys to fill out a 260+ Division.

Well they will soon have all SF heavyweights, which means that the division will be a lot bigger. And I meant to say 250+, my mistake.

What they should do is....
Make LW 160
Make WW 175
MW 190
LHW 210
HW 235-45
SHW 246+

Yep, if this has to happen, it should be
LHW: 205
HW: 235
SHW: Limit 265 or no limit. It wouldn't change that much, there isn't a lot of great HW that has to cut a lot of weight.

It's not happening anytime soon & personally I'm fine with that.
