After a brief stretch in which the UFC moved up its pay-per-view start times an hour early, the organization soon will return to its 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT) timeslot.
The PPV events return to the timeslot beginning with the year-end UFC 141 event.
UFC officials confirmed the switch overnight following an initial report from f4wonline.com.
The UFC moved up the start times to 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT) in April with the UFC 129 stadium show in Toronto. Officials said it'd be the new time slot for future shows. However, officials are ditching the plans after 12 events, reportedly due to a sizable PPV-revenue decline in recent months.
The earlier start time meant West Coast viewers' PPV broadcasts began at 6 p.m. PT. With Facebook and Spike TV prelims, events sometimes began as early as 2:45 p.m. PT.
UFC 141 takes place Dec. 30 (a Friday) and features a Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem heavyweight headliner. As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported, the event will feature a one-hour "UFC Prelims" special on Spike TV. That start time will be moved from 8 p.m. ET to 9 p.m. to accommodate the later PPV.

I prefer the earlier time because over here, the earlier the better. Sure, I don't mind staying up until 6am to watch the UFC cards, but this last four week stretch has been horrible. Of course, with the UFC putting on more and more fight cards per year, oh dear my body clock is going to be so screwed.

What? Your post makes very little sense due to incoherent typing.
I'm aware that there's a four-week stretch soon, but remember that UFC 138 is over here and I'm attending that anyway, so it's not a late night.

I guess I should have red highlighted this part. I was go off that to say that there is a four week stretch and that is awesome - unrelated to the topic I know. Oh and your a lucky a--hole, how much were tickets?

Still makes no sense, even with the red text.
Also, they were £100, which at the current exchange rate is roughly $157. Not too bad for lower tier.

chalk me us as someone who doesn't like this move. It would have allowed me to see the Edgar/Maynard fight from this past week, but, in general, I'd prefer them to be at 9:00.

I'm in agreement with you here Residency. I have to watch live so my body clock will be screwed too.

Well, that sucks.

Couldn't agree more.
I also wonder if numbers are down because while there used to occasionally be 2 ppv's in a single month now there are 2 ppv's in almost every month. I'd bet that has as much to do with it as the time slot.

I would highly doubt time slot is a factor at all. MMA is just peaking, IMO, that's all. That, plus as you point out the sheer numbers of events, it's not so much of a "big deal" when a UFC PPV is on, as it seems there is some UFC event every other week, often two weeks in a row. It's just getting watered down, people are maybe getting a little burned out.

I'm sure the increasing number of non-PPV events isn't helping PPV buyrates either.

Thank God! 9eastrn in chicago is 8central.
This could be a small reason the ppvs are down...well for me anyway. I get out of work at about 1025..i would sometimes order the fight..dvr it. A couple friends would picck me up and head to my house. Aftr seeing the fights that happened. We can forward it between fights and still catch the main event live.
Plus some people remember late that therez a fight on tonight.
Some people get bored a little later in the night and order or watch the fight. I just think an hour later is way better, although its only an hour.

I think it's a mixture of things. Time slot has to be a factor to an extent. I haven't ordered a PPV since the time change to be honest. I'm busy before 7 always(with getting my daughter ready for bed and whatnot). I'm sure I'm not the only one on the west coast stopped buying PPV's due to the time change. 6'clock is just too damn early..most people are still enjoying the day and/or having dinner yet. I still go to the bars for the events, but I even noticed some of the regular places I go looking a little more dead than usual, too.

For the westcoast it is good for the eastcoast it must suck. That's pretty much it. I had to get everything I need to get done before 5 just to catch the prelims.
