WAR

I'll just say the notion they'd come out of it "stronger" is nonsense unless they'd actually sign that previous embarrassing deal they were offered
IMHO, the notion of Iran coming out stronger falls solely on the state of play in the Strait of Hormuz, and as some of us in this thread had mentioned earlier in the beginning of this war, if this dragged on, Iran would be able to come out with a draw which would be a win for them.

Yes but there's a lot of ways they could "come out stronger" and they all rely on whether all sanctions will be lifted and/or they'll be given dozens or hundreds of billions in frozen assets (which that MOU stated) and/or full control of Hormuz with tolls etc (which it didn't) and some other business and no-attack guarantees

Other than that they're in a desperate state internally and there will be another uprising soon enough

I don't believe that Iran's goal is to exit out of this in a position of strength (relative to their position prior to this beginning back in February/March)... I think their goals are:

- Weaken the west, creating a pathway for BRICS to expand their geopolitical interests
- Keep, by whatever means necessary, the IRGC in power
- Make Trump look like a buffoon (though, Trump is doing that largely without their help)

So far, it's a great success for the IRGC (well, those who haven't died)... they have consolidated even more power than prior to the wars start.

So far, I think they are achieving those goals.
1) Weaken the West
A. The West, and specifically the EU, are the weakest link in NATO. They are hurting with oil prices, and because they are weak they rather hurt economically than to assist in the Strait.
2) Keep the IRGC in power
A. They are still calling the shots
3) Make Trump look like a buffoon
A. The whole "hot & cold" diplomacy is not working.
B. He is making the same mistakes as every other President before him, which is to think that those people in that region think the same way as We do here.

These are secondary goals at best (other than helping the Republicans lose and giving everyone second thoughts about attacking Iran again in the future, which won't just make all their internal issues go away)

Staying in power and all that sure but without an economical path to become a regional powerhouse again they'll eventually collapse

They have never been a regional powerhouse on their own merit... they are swimming in the wake China creates for them.

Put it this way, they have no problem telling Trump to fuck off, but, if China told them to knock this shit with the US off... they would likely listen.

ok, let's call it "stable regime" then

Report: US told mediators it will not return to terms of Iran memorandum of understanding

President Donald Trump's administration has repeatedly told mediators that it has no interest in returning to the terms of the memorandum of understanding reached with Iran in June, complicating the feverish diplomatic efforts that took place this week, according to sources involved in the details who spoke to The Wall Street Journal. Trump has become fixated on a policy of economic pressure on Iran and is willing to wait to see if the strategy bears fruit, the sources said. In particular, the president is no longer interested in the memorandum of understanding, which came under harsh criticism in the U.S. for being too soft on Iran, according to them.

Somebody didn't understand so it makes sense to bail on the understanding.

Go ahead and issue a MOGFY: Memorandum of Go Fuck Yourself

Bro they're BEGGING

Trump: Iran wants to meet with me, they're begging for a deal

U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that "Jonathan Hunt from Fox News published an inaccurate report about the failing Islamic Republic of Iran." According to him, "I don't want to meet with them - they do. They're begging to close a deal."

B. He is making the same mistakes as every other President before him, which is to think that those people in that region think the same way as We do here.
I disagree with this. I think once he started selling front running information, he will continue the hot and cold diplomacy to rake in as much money as possible until after the Midterms when Congress attempts to force us out of the region.

Well, at least him and his family are gaining billions of dollars every month. Nothing about this was a "mistake." You cult motherfuckers will never understand.

If anyone is still diehard MAGA at this point there are only 2 reasons:

1) you're super high wealth. Like the top 5% of wealth in the world type people.

or

2) you're super low IQ.

No in between.
