WAR

Generational fumble. DeSean Jackson on the 1 yard line. Even if this is to just buy time for the midterms and the peace gets torn up afterwards, this prevents Hez from getting taken off the board and is as bad a reputational hit to American prestige as Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal. How can any leader agree to such insane points like letting Iran extort ships passing through the Strait?!
Because Trump is desperate to make a deal and the Iranians know it. They are beating him at his own negotiating game. I hate this so much. I have zero faith whatsoever that he is buying time for a grander strategy. He is in over head and getting played by the IRGC.

Like they have always done to everyone else I might add, but Trump thought he knows better than them

1000% sure most of it is an act by Trump
I think he's genuinely frustrated with Netanyahu. I think Trump feels like he owns him due to his support. I also further speculate that in Trump's mind, he pays so much in taxes that he personally pays for Israel's foreign aid and feels like he is entitled to boss around the President of Israel.

I disagree, maybe the first time but the second (or was it third?) in which we coordinated with CENTCOM (like in any previous time) they definitely asked Trump personally to approve and he did "in exchange" to publicly shaming Bibi to "show who's the boss"

Why would anyone be outraged at iran getting to sell it's own resources? They didn't start this war. And despite the loud and frequent claims they're behind any hamas action, I just am not buying that. I find that association to be greatly exaggerated to portray all of iran as some terrorist state. Propaganda, pretty much.
Same with Russia. Are we meant to try to sanction them in perpetuity? They're playing with americans wallets when they do that. I'm sure farmers are being slaughtered w\ these diesel prices. Most of which is self inflicted.

If you aren't buying that it is because you are willfully blinding yourself to established facts. There is no debate over whether Iran is the primary backer and financier of Hamas; that is proven fact that neither party denies. You stating your disbelief in proven facts would indicate that you choose to live with blinders on or that you are woefully misinformed.

I find that association to be greatly exaggerated to portray all of iran as some terrorist state.
Again, this is a widely accepted fact the world over. There is a reason that Iran isn't getting any sympathy from most of the world. They are a known state sponsor of terrorism. You can choose to not believe it, but that doesn't make it untrue.

Are we meant to try to sanction them in perpetuity? They're playing with americans wallets when they do that.
Explain how the Russian sanctions are playing with American wallets.

Not only does Iran fund Hamas and Hezbollah and the Houthis (practically the reason Hezbollah still exists) and turned Lebanon and Yemen into vassal states, they are also one of the largest heroin exporters in the world and directly sell their crap to the Mexican cartels, who then smuggle their garbage into the US.

So this begs the question.
Are We better than before?
Was this worth it?
Is this deal better than what Obama had made?

If this continues as it is, no, it was not worth it. What was accomplished beyond breaking some stuff that we are apparently going to pay to replace?

Is this deal better than what Obama had made?
That's like comparing apples and hand grenades. But the Obama deal would not be nearly as bad as what this appears to be. This deal sets them up for long term strength and profit.

Worse if this is an actual long term deal (which I cannot see either Israel or Saudi Arabia accepting, and Iran will push its luck at some point too). Bad still even if this peace becomes trash by the end of the year, because it becomes a black eye on America's power projection. The world doesn't have to love us but they better respect and fear us, and if the message is that rising gas prices is enough for Uncle Sam to fold after the flop is dealt, what does that say about China's designs on Taiwan and how much it should fear an American response?

The biggest consequence from this operation, in which for whatever reason no one in the Trump Admin foresaw, was the realization of the IRGC that they didn't really need a nuclear weapon to hurt the U.S. and it's allies. All they need is the threat of a sea mine or a drone in the Strait, and the World Economy starts experiencing aches & pain.

That's because Trump surrounds himself with yes-men, and not solid advisors who would push back on his grand plans. If Trump could throttle his ego and listen to competent advisors, he could have been a great president.

And that's where Trump really fucked the pooch. He let on way too much how much their tactics were effectively harming us. He is a terrible wartime president.

It's for the companies that are rebuilding Iran...but not anyone else.

Report: IRGC launched drones to Hormuz every night since understanding was signed

Iran continued to launch a "large number" of drones toward commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz since the memorandum of understanding with the U.S. was announced. NBC reported this, citing an American official who noted that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched drones that the U.S. managed to intercept before they threatened commercial vessels, military ships and crew members in the area. According to the report, the Revolutionary Guards launched drones every night since the memorandum of understanding was signed "electronically" on Sunday.

'Surrendering to Iran': GOP turmoil erupts over Trump Iran deal as Vance defends strategy

Republican critics warned the US-Iran deal could grant Tehran major economic benefits without sufficiently curbing its nuclear program, while Vice President JD Vance defended the agreement, accusing opponents of advocating 'endless conflict'
