Iran’s crisis is only beginning. Where does the regime go from here?

Opinion: Iran’s leadership faces three main scenarios that could determine the regime’s future: restoration of the monarchy, military rule or tactical reform

Trump: We will take control of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump said that 'we are taking control of the Strait of Hormuz, we will get paid for passage through it. They have nothing. They have nothing left. There is something nobody knows: yesterday they held an 11-hour meeting. With these people, everything takes 11 hours, you know. They can't finish one sentence in an hour when it should take one minute.' According to him, 'there was a deal and Iran violated it. They will return the compensation.'

U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the strikes in Iran in an interview with Fox News, saying, "We hit them very hard last night. Every time they send a drone, we hit them with great force." According to him, "We had a deal, and nobody knows this. We had a deal. Everything was already closed, and then they violated it. They always break deals. We've already had ten deals with these people. So we'll just hit them with great force and continue to hold the strait. We'll probably also manage it. We'll become the guardians of the strait. Maybe we'll call it 'the guardian angel of the strait.'"

Houthis accuse Saudi Arabia of striking Sanaa airport to block Iranian plane

Trump: 'We are reinstating the Hormuz blockade — we'll get reimbursed for all cargo'

U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that "the Strait of Hormuz is open, and will remain open, with or without Iran. We are reinstating the Iranian blockade, so called because it only prevents Iranian ships or Iran's customers from entering or exiting. All other countries will have fair and open use of the strait. The United States will be called, from this point forward, 'Guardians of the Strait,' but as such, and for reasons of fairness, will receive reimbursement at a rate of 20% on all cargo shipped, for all costs required to carry out the mission of providing safety and security to this highly volatile part of the world. The process and organization will begin immediately. "

US military: We will begin enforcing the Hormuz blockade later today

Captain Tim Hawkins, a spokesperson for the US military's Central Command (CENTCOM), told The New York Times that the military is finalizing the details and coordination of reimposing the naval blockade, and that American warships will begin enforcing it later today.

Rubio announces campaign against The Hague court: 'Intolerable threat to US sovereignty'

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a government campaign "to dismantle the threat posed by the International Criminal Court in The Hague to American sovereignty." The State Department statement noted that the move will include "a broad government response designed to systematically paralyze the court's ability to act against American military personnel and officials." Among the measures being considered are visa cancellations and entry bans for court personnel, increased sanctions on the organization and affiliated bodies, and a reassessment of aid to partner countries that refuse to renounce the court's jurisdiction. Rubio emphasized that the U.S. has never recognized the court's authority: "It poses an intolerable threat to the sovereignty of the state."

Unsurprisingly, all the terrorists are using AI to plan everything and improve (and those tools would answer and not block all of their queries)

@bconcrete you see he's taking congress very seriously ;)

Trump officially notifies Congress on Friday that hostilities with Iran have resumed

U.S. President Donald Trump officially notified Congress that hostilities with Iran have resumed. In a letter sent to congressional leaders on Friday and obtained by The New York Times, the president wrote that American forces initiated 'defensive strikes against targets inside Iran' on July 7.

Honestly that Pickaxe site (not "Picax" like he wrote) is a valuable target like all the other nuclear sites, even if it's still not up and running

Trump: 'We will hit Iran hard tonight. Sometimes I disagree with Netanyahu, and I make sure he knows'

U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview that he will "hit Iran hard tonight and tomorrow. The memorandum of understanding was a test, they did not honor it." He also said he gets along with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "very well," but added: "Sometimes I disagree with him, and I make sure he knows." He was asked about Mount Picax south of Natanz, and replied: "We have a lot of surveillance capabilities. But Picax is a possible target, a possible target for a big strike right at the entrance. And I think you might see that."

LOL, now strikes inside another country are defensive...

I mean, if our military is striking sites within Iran that are launching missiles at US bases in the region it makes sense and I could get behind it.

Of course, to take that approach you would have to ignore the fact that our first strikes (in this chapter of the conflict... post MOU) were predicated on Iran striking non-US civilian ships in the Strait of Hormuz. That's not very defensive.

As usual, whatever is going to happen will happen and it doesn't really matter how I feel about it.

It is what it is at this point. We (by we I mean anyone who voted for Trump on his 'no more Forever Wars' pledge) got duped/lied to.

Like my coach says: The best defense is to keep throwing offense

Or like in football! Whats the best way to slow down the opposing teams offense? Never let them have the ball!

It makes perfect sense if you just don't think about it too hard and only use sports metaphors.
