Report: Russia and US close to signing deal for release of American prisoners
The U.S. is close to signing an agreement for the return of American prisoners from Russia, ABC News reported, citing two official sources in Washington and another source involved in the details. The sources said negotiations on the matter are in their final stages and are being led by U.S. President Donald Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Meanwhile, the two are expected to visit Moscow tomorrow and pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy continues. Trump said today that 'Russia wants to end the war but Ukraine needs to want it too. We gave Ukraine a lot and got nothing in return. It's time for Ukraine to end the war.'

Report: Elon Musk personally ordered restrictions on Starlink system in Ukraine
Elon Musk is the one who ordered the slowdown of the Starlink communications system in Ukraine, according to U.S. officials who spoke to The Wall Street Journal. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Kyiv has been unable to operate certain interception systems due to restrictions imposed on the system's operating speed. The sources who spoke to the newspaper claimed that Musk acted on his own initiative and not based on explicit instructions from U.S. President Donald Trump. However, another source claimed that Musk had previously spoken with administration officials, including the president himself. Trump has previously denied ordering a slowdown in the system.
French prosecutors seek to bar anti-Israel European Parliament member Rima Hassan over terrorism case
French prosecutors seek a 10-month suspended sentence and two-year public office ban for anti-Israel European Parliament member Rima Hassan, accused of glorifying terrorism after quoting a perpetrator of the 1972 Lod Airport massacre
French prosecutors on Tuesday asked a Paris court to impose a 10-month suspended prison sentence on European Parliament member Rima Hassan and bar her from holding public office for two years. Hassan is accused of "glorifying terrorism" after posting a quote on X on March 26 from Japanese terrorist Kozo Okamoto: "I dedicated my youth to Palestine. As long as oppression exists, resistance is not only a right but a duty."
Hassan's post quoting Okamoto, who led the terrorist cell that murdered 24 people the May 30, 1972, massacre at Lod Airport, now known as Ben Gurion Airport, was subsequently deleted. According to French newspaper Le Parisien, synthetic drugs were found in her bag at the time of her arrest. She is also suspected of drug use, transportation and possession.
This is not the first time Hassan has faced accusations of supporting terrorism. In December 2024, a complaint was filed against her over a statement she wrote: "If French-Israelis are allowed to serve in the Israeli military and enjoy the benefits of dual citizenship, then every French-Palestinian should be allowed to join the Palestinian armed resistance."
Just two weeks ago, Hassan was at the center of another controversy after she was filmed knocking Israeli and European Union flags to the floor at an exhibition commemorating the October 7 massacre. European Parliament President Roberta Metsola addressed the incident, saying she viewed the allegations against Hassan "very seriously."
