If he comes to the UFC in 2007 or 2009 he would be a legend...even with any losses.
Wanderlei Silva is 2-6 in the UFC and he'll still be in the UFC hall of fame. I have no doubts that Fedor would have had a better record than that and his fighting style is pretty similar to Wandy/Nog. Aggressive style with the ability to come back at any point in the fight and can beat opponents with pretty much anything. It's a shame people question how good he ever was now considering he was the FIRST true #1 fighter in the world. It's like saying Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice and John Elway were never that good because the competition wasn't as good back then. When, in fact, they actually revolutionized the game to what it is today. They were benchmarks as to how good you should be but most never came close. Same as what Fedor did for MMA. The game has just passed him by.

Nice post, reckin. Only issue I have is the very first line. UFC or not, he's still a legend. It's just trolls an no nothings who think otherwise. Even Uncle Dana agrees. HE won't admit it now, of course, but when he was offering the biggest contract in MMA history to him, you better believe that's what he thought.
Then listen to him talk about Cro Cop or Big Nog.... legends, he calls them. RAVES about their careers... both of which pale in comparison to Fedor. Especially, considering he whooped them both at their own games, in their PRIME. So, yeah, DW may talk out of his *** NOW, but anyone paying attention knows the real score.
Again, nice post.

Yeah the first line is pointing to the fact that if he had the exposure of some UFC fights people would see how good he truly is/was. Not saying he isn't a legend now...just that he needed that exposure for more fans to love him/his style. It's easy to hate Fedor now because (a) the hype that he brought and then lost a few times in SF, and then (b) the fact he didn't sign with the UFC really made people mad, both hardcore/mainstream fans alike. They just wanted to see him in the UFC. Ignoring what he did with Pride/Affliction though is just silly.
