Lakers are targeting BOTH Dwight Howard AND Chris Paul for trades!!!!!!
If this goes down, I dont think anyone can stop them. Not even the Miami Heat.

They need a point guard more than a big center. They have Bynum and Gasol....however, they might need to trade one of them for Chris Paul. They need Paul more, god that would be amazing if they got Paul.

Kobe is getting on up there in age now. He's still one of the top 5 guys in the league, but the past couple of years you could start to see a tad bit of slowdown in him. Getting a young guy, like CP3 could help him to pass the torch a little bit easier than it would be right now. I really feel like the Thunder might be able to get over the hump this year, though. Harden has really emerged as that 3rd guy that most teams have. As long as Westbrook can keep his ego in check, they could really make a Finals run.

It's kind of cool, because the one team that won't win the championship, is the Mavs and the Lakers of last few years are no longer the top team, the Spurs aren't a perennial powerhouse, and the Celtics have likely pushed passed the age barrier.
Didn't really follow, but i don't get why they are trying to trade Rondo. And why more teams wouldn't have jumped at that. He was the most important person on his team when he was with Garnett, Pierce and Allen.
They offered 2 first rounders, Jeff Green, and Rajon Rondo for Chris Paul? The Warriors turned down a Rondo for Curry trade?
What am I missing with Rondo? he's not that injury prone. the Celtics aren't half the team they were the last few years without him, he's won a championship, he's proven that he can lead a team of higher profile stars as well as aging players too. I know Chris Pauls a much bigger name, but he hasn't done more in his career in about the same time frame.
So why do the Celtics want to get rid of him so badly, and why does nobody want him?

i guess if they are looking to rebuild the franchise he would get the most interest. if i am not mistaken garnett and allen are in the last years of their contracts, so it seems like the celtics are preparing to start over. in other words, they dont see rondo as the future face of their team. they have been trying to move rondo the last 2 years, guess ainge just doesnt like him.

regarding the lakers, i know paul is set on playing with his buddies in NY, but he would have a way better chance of winning in LA. I agree that a combination of kobe, cp3, and gasol would be solid, no way they get paul and dwight though. the lakers should not hesitate to ship bynam for paul, they have other bigs but desperately need a PG. also, bynam is a blown acl waiting to happen, not sure why teams are so interested to have him.

I guess that's what i have a hard time with. he was easily more important than any one of the big 3. and even if the Celtics are going a different way, why are teams not interested? There's not that many PGs currently that have led their teams like he has, and even fewer that have a championship ring as well.
It'll be funny when the knicks load up and still can't be a top team.

Rondo is a good point guard. His shot might suck but he can lead a team get assists and can get some steals. But then again how hard is it to lead a team of vets and get assists with allen pierce and garnett. But he must be something for these vets to let this young guy call the shots.

good point on cp3, could be the same thing with rondo. maybe the celtics are being over demanding in what they expect in return.

As an unknown he lead the big 3 to a championship, that would be like a 4th person on the Heat actually being the player that made cohesive and being the player to run the offence. pierce always choked in the playoffs, Garnett was always a prima donna personality, and Allen... well i like Allen.
By the same sense, Steve Nash had a stacked team, and was winning MVPs, but he didn't lead them to a championship, or even the finals. Derrick Rose led the Bulls to a great season, but not in the playoffs. Chris Paul, he's never done anything beyond the regular season. Teams like the Magic, Thunder, Heat, Warriors, Clippers, the Knicks all have big young Kevin Garnett like stars, but none of them have a player that essentially runs the team and allows the stars to do their thing and has actually won a championship during the Laker years.
The Celtics got this "Big 3", but they don't win that championship without Rondo that year. and since then those stars have aged quickly but the Celtics have still been one of the top teams in the east.
Maybe they're asking too much, but he seems like he'd be that last piece for a lot of teams that have talent and big men.

People always bring up Rondos "Jump shot" and he doesn't score much but like I always say to that is "there is more to basketball then shooting jumpshots and scoring"."Also he's not a great FT shooter".He's young and will continue to improve. The Celtics dont need a new PG they need a few Centers and a little youth!
Doesn't CP3 have knee issuses aswell?

this article says that boston wants to win a final championship with the big 3 and ainge thinks their chances are better with cp3 as their PG. It also states that the hornets are reluctnant to accept bynam because of his injury history.

Rondo is one of the best defensive PGs in the league and only behind Chris Paul IMO. If he had a better jump shot then I think he would be the best PG in the league.
Teams are crazy for not trying to grab him

Myself I think Rondos jumpshot isn't as bad as people make it out to be its improving though its not great but like I always say there is more to basketball then jumpshots. He's a good passer, good defender, pretty good rebounder for a PG (Mostly a better Defensive rebounder).I'd like to see him wear his headband agian though he played much better wearing that lol.I think he'll play much better this season After The Celtics traded Perkins last season Rondo just wasn't hisself after that hopefully he's over that.If Rondo worked on his FT's and improved his midrange jumper he'd be a much better player,he's young and will continue to improve.
The Celtics need a good rebounding and defensive Center not a PG.

Has Minnesota got anything to help Kevin Love? He's got such a strange game that actually works, it's probably harder to find a full team to mesh with him, needs another star on the team. And the Grizzlies.... they made the playoffs without any special, right.
It really should be an epic little season, there's going to be a lot of teams that are refreshed from the extra time off. Should be fun.

They've got Michael Beasley who is also listed as a PF he avg. 19.2 PPG last season.Derrick Williams (Rookie) was the No. 2 pick in the Draft listed as a Forward.PG Ricky Rubio who was drafted in 2009 5th pick of the 1st round but has never played in the NBA yet.Thats about all they have.

looks like a good deal, they get cp3 and didn't have to give up bynam. they seriously might be able to land dwight too now.
