First question : Can a referee call a fight a NC because it is lacking action? ( as the ref threatened to do in round 3 of Hicks / McCullough )

Looks like Jose Aldo should be in line for a title shot soon. Disappointing Hicks/McCullough fight, maybe they're both punched out from recent slugfests. Hope the Brown/Garcia fight delivers....

BTW, how is this the only thread on this event and it only has 3 total posts? Do people not care about WEC?

Aldo is the real deal. Mickle is lucky that Aldo's head kick just grazed him...otherwise they would have taken him out on a stretcher

Yeah, there's usually an "official discussion" thread for fight cards, but for some unknown reason this one didn't have one. And yes, this is a great card so far.

That was an awesome card Jose Aldo could be a future champ, Ricardo Lamas looked really good, and that was a dominant win for Mike Brown. I thought it was over when Garcia got dropped, but nice recovery. Mike Brown will probably have to rematch Urijah at some point can't wait to see it.

I know it will be a Brown/Faber fight, but i would like to see an Aldo/Brown fight before a Faber rematch... but what can you do. Gotta love the WEC title fights, they're always good.

I'd like to see Brown move up and fight Sean Sherk. That would be an awesome fight. I think Mike has the striking advantage though

I think Faber will have a hard time, Brown still has the reach advantage and in Faber's last few fights (even the wins) it's showing a lot more. Similar to Sherk/Penn, sure Sherk has a good chin, but when you can't get inside you're pretty much f*cked.

The impression i get from Faber is he's more into being "Urijah Faber" and bein famous, rather than being a full time dedicated fighter. Brown wins a rematch in the same way (imo)

Yep, Faber v. Brown 2 will be a good fight.
Damacio Page looked plain mean in the stare-down with Galvao, and Galvao looked scared. Page then threw 9-10 right hands to win the fight. We rewound that fight a few times.
Only thing that bugged me about WEC 39 was that it took an hour before the second fight started.
