What are you playing?

About to pickup Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered once the paycheck hits tomorrow. That should keep me busy for two weeks before GTA comes out. Heck, I'll probably wait to even pick up GTA to make sure there aren't tons of bugs at launch.

I played Stray last week, it was in the backlog so I figured why not.

It was interesting but weird and oddly short. You play as a stray cat who falls into a decaying cybercity and tries to navigate thru it with the assistance of a robot drone that is trying to piece together it's corrupted memories and figure out wtf happened to the city and why there are no humans left in it.

I beat it in under 8 hours (the save file says 5:45, but there were some lengthy periods of time where I'd get up and leave to do other stuff and let the clock run) while doing pretty much everything there was to do. The controls are also kind of janky for a platformer, though none of the puzzles/platforming is difficult enough for it to really pose a problem.

I dunno, it came out in 2022 and I probably would have appreciated it more at that time. The graphics are fine, but there's so many games that have been more recently released that are 'woah' level graphics (Death Stranding 2, Horizon 2, Alan Wake 2, Ghost of Yotei, etc), and this pales big time compared to those.

Story was solid/interesting... but it ends and it's like, "oh, that was it? Really?"

I dunno, if you can get it for free you can do worse... but, I wouldn't recommend spending money on it.

LOVE STRAY.
The whole BTTF riff was cool.

It was enjoyable for the most part (controls a little janky at times), but when it finished it felt more like it was a demo for a better game than a complete standalone game.

I've definitely trudged thru worse offerings, and the story was solid (while it lasted) but I would have been pretty pissed when I got to the end if I had paid $20+ for it.

Given that it was given for 'free' from PS Plus awhile back? Free was worth it.

I'll be logging onto WoW: Forever after work....

I say that, but it's launch day. I probably won't be able to make it onto the server for the next two days, lol.

I'll be thinking of you when I'm massacring plainstriders in Mulgore!
I shall live vicariously through you two for now. I expect updates.

I'm going to slowly build a gaming PC in the spare bedroom over the next year. I will progressively make my playing next winter an inevitability.
