While I don't disagree that he "should" be at MW, whats so bad about him trying to be the biggest in his weight class to give himself every advantage possible?
I heard a wrestling coach once say "fight at the lowest weight possible".
I took that as, if you feel strong there, do it.

Rumble's management said that he's going to come back fighting at middleweight, but he plans on going back down to 170 once he gets back into regular fighting shape, however long that takes.
My guess is that he ends up staying at middleweight, for a year or two at least. As thin as that division is, he's probably only two or three wins away from a title shot.

BJ Penn must have been scared most of his career as well, huh? Fighting lightweights when he obviously should be fighting at WW or higher. This post is just ridiculous. If he weighs in at the weight then it ain't about being scared, it's about having the ability to cut down and give yourself every advantage you can.

BJ doesnt cut weight to make WW. He is a natural LW. Anderson has fought at LHW and ripped people up.
I agree with Zajebisty. Guys like this that cut so much weight that they look like aliens and miss weight occasionally lose some of my respect. Like does Johnson feel proud that he knocked out Yoshida after not even coming close to making 170 and probably weighing 30-40 pounds more than him at fight time? I understand that you want to give yourself every advantage but at a certain point, it comes off as sort of lame.

Being lame and being scared are two totally different things. Not that I think he is either, and I'm not a big fan of his.
