People always hate on the guy out in front of the sport.
The more people hating on you, the better you are doing.
Look at Jon Jones right now, the guy had a bunch of people loving him, he got the title and now he has a target on his back. With success come legions of people that want nothing more than to see you fail.

I don't dislike Jones because he became the UFC LightHeavyweight Champion, it's purely based on the attitude that appeared once he became the UFC LightHeavyweight Champion. He just completely lost the humble and appealing nature that I was decepted into believing that he had. I won't even begin to argue that he isn't one of the most talented, gifted, and athletic fighters in MMA at the moment, because that would be blasphemy, and there's no possible way I, or anyone else could do that.
On to the topic of Anderson Silva, I feel the exact same way about Anderson Silva as I do about Jon Jones, and I fully believe that he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the entire world. But like the same way I feel about Jon Jones, I can say that with Anderson Silva, I'm not a fan of the persona that he carries around.

What kind of persona does spider carry around that you dont like? All these years following him and watching interviews he hasnt said anything cocky or anything to make it seem like he better then anyone else.

As much as I love Silva, he's a cocky SOB to be honest, but he's done enough at this point to where he has to have some type of swag. He thinks he's the best, he knows he's the best, he just doesn't show it at all. The majority of the time, Ed Soares is trying to make him look better and switch up a bit of what he says. Like him talking about the Vitor fight and the GSP fight, Soares translated them as "fun" fights, but what Silva really meant was that they would be "funny" fights as in he is going to embarrass them. Silva has that cockiness about him and it shows in some of his fights too, mainly the Demian Maia fight, but he did the same thing to Griffin too, but Griffin was dumb enough to fall into it and get finished. Silva is cocky, but at this point in his career, he's pretty much earned some right to be cocky and I personally like it. Jones on the other hand beats a 50% Shogun and now thinks he's God, now that's what I don't like.
