No source, just a thought.
If Randy beats Nog later this month, how about he drops down to 205 to be Silva's next opponent?
Randy has not stated he wants to renew his contract, and he will surely not get a shot at the HW belt if he does not.

Would be an AWESOME match for UFC to tell. Anderson would destroy him though.

And i'm a Couture fan...

I think Randy would go for his Fedor fight before he went for this one. As for me, I have no interest in Randy fighting anyone considered P4P best.

I think Silva vs. Couture is a waste of a fight. I'm not interested in PVP sells, I'm interested in good fights. I'd be more interested in seeing Couture vs. Lesnar again than Couture vs. Silva - I actually think he has a better shot vs. Lesnar

I'd rather see it a heavyweight so Couture is in his best form.

+1
Silva would ko Randy in the first round. Im hoping we'll see Anderson fight at 205 until his ufc contract is over. Randy should stay at hw and fulfill his contract then fight fedor in late 2010.

That would be a terrible fight to make and watch, just a bad idea all the way through.
When you posted this before everybody s--- on your ideas did you really think that Randy could out game plan and work his dirty boxing and wrestle Silva to a win?

Couture is seriously running out of time in his career, he's getting up there in age. I would think he would want to go to Strikeforce and fight Fedor instead.
I think he really wants that fight before he retires. Just my thoughts.

I think Strikeforce should clamor for a Silva vs Fedor fight, instead of Lesnar vs Fedor.

As long as its done at a decent weight, say around 210-215, it should be interesting.

AS will murder Couture. He will KO him in the first round.

I think that randy vs anderson silva would be similiar to the result of forrest vs silva. Randy is older, slower, and would get picked apart like forrest did. granted randy is a hall of famer and I am a fan of his and fans know he should never be counted out but the same can be said bout forrest and what happend?
maybe randy vs thiago silva that is what I think !

Silva's stand-up is in another realm from any figher (even Lyoto and Fedor).
Silva basically has all around great MMA skills, with (very talented) boxer level striking and head movement. Like RJJ or Ali type of striking implemented into MMA.

Silva's standup is on another level I agree ..except about Lyoto. Anderson has said that Lyoto gets the better of the striking between them when they spar. In the post-fight interview Sat, he said he wouldn't want to fight Lyoto not just because they are friends, but because Lyoto would present problems.

I'm a huge randy fan but, come on the dude is older than my grandpas buck skin rubber. The time for Randy to fight Fedor or Silva is over. Randy can still give us some great fights as he runs out his contract & he'd kick the crap out of 98% of the dudes on the street but, UFC top 10 guys are going to end up hurting him badly. Dana forced Chuck into retirement 10 years younger than Randy, let's see what he does when Randys contract is up. I really don't want Randy to get hurt or end up looking like Ken Shamrock.

What Griffin did was a joke, his only chance of winning was to close in, and clinch with Silva, where him down and slow down his strikes. Randy or another fighter might try to do that. You have to wear down good strikers, make them use their shoulders and arms for something other than punching, this can slow them down. If you are big enough and strong enough to do that you can change the way the fight is fought. At MW there are few fighters who can clinch with Silva, but at 205, there are some who can and will.
As for Silva vs, Machida, not a good fight. They are both fighters who pray on the moves of th eother fighter, so there will be way too much non-action for most fight fans to endure while each fighter looks for that opening to make contact.
