I get this question asked a lot around this time of year. Usually I have no idea because there isn't much I need and when I do, I just go get it for myself. The strategy I used last year was to find something too expensive for one person to get me and then ask for gift cards to the store. I got gift cards to Fry's electronics and found a smokin deal on a laptop. This year I decided it would be cool to get one of the new HD 8" Kindle Fire's. I don't really need one and I don't want to spend the money on an iPad when I already have an iPhone. So I'm asking for Amazon gift cards. This also works in case I change my mind and want something else like canned unicorn meat:

I'm not a fan of receiving gifts, however, I am a fan of giving them. It's funny, family and friends will ask what I want and I'll just tell them to double up on gifts for my daughters or young(er) cousins if they really feel the need to get something.

I like the holiday season for getting to hang with my family and getting some days off. I despise having to shop for things, actually, now the wife does most of the holiday shopping so it isn't that bad.

To not have to exchange gifts with other adults. Giving kids gifts is great. But once you're self-sufficient, buy your own gifts. I hate the politics and guilt involved.
They spent that much so I have to spend this much. They're flat broke, why are they spending their money on us?
We spent this on your family but what about my side of the family? Wtf, I hate that crap.
The only good thing about Christmas is how much the kids love it.
Can't we just have two thanksgivings?

My man ! Got some flavor down there Aussieland.
I'd like a "Big Face" Rolex and an Eisenman quad exhaust for my car but realistically all I want is for children and family to be happy. We never know how much time we have with each other so getting to see everyone and see them happy is all I want.
I wish Christmas wasn't so damn commercial. Every kiss begins with K, ipads and s---. What happened to normal age appropriate gifts for children and Food and Booze for parents ?
