Surprisingly little hip hop "objectifies women". The whole problem is that the crap that is shoved down the masses throats is sub-genre that is the most ignorant, and generally has the least music-intelligent fans.

Least intelligent fans Yes, but they are also the majority which makes rap/hip hop as a whole look bad.

It's not that they are unintelligent as a whole. It's that most people refuse to listen to anything other than what's on the radio. It comes down to laziness really. People are too lazy to entertain the thought that something better is out there.
It's a much larger problem here in the states than it is most everywhere else. The "major" mainstream media outlets have far too much power here over the music industry.
