although patrick cote has beaten some big names in mma and put together a 3 ko streak inside a 5 win streak, of late he is on a 3 fight losing streak and we all know what that could mean. great job by tom lawlor who took control early and kept it despite cutting so much weight he had plenty of steam for the whole three rounds handing cote his third loss

i've always been a cote fan. i think he's an entertaining fighter with the right matchup. but that's the problem. the guy is clearly not well rounded enough to stay at the top of his division. i almost think that he'd be better suited for strikeforce where they seem to place entertainment value over relevance when it comes to match making.

Totally wouldn't be surprised if Cote is cut soon, but like a lot of ex-UFC fighters, if he gets a couple of good wins outside the organization he'll be invited back to the big show.
I'm sure the UFC won't hesitate to bring him back, especially for Montreal / Vancouver and (soon to be) Toronto cards, since Joe Silva always looks to bring local/national talent to Canadian cards.
Hope to see him fight again soon!

Woops typo there
Cote could possibly be a Ch there and get back in the groove he was in before the Silva fight, he just has not looked the same since that fight

i actually thought he looked significantly better in the belcher fight, but his last fight left a lot to be desired. he could definitely afford to work on things in the smaller shows and come back a better, more well-rounded fighter. besides i'm sure he's still a star out in canada anyway from his tko days. i would assume he could make a decent wage out there.

Give him his pink slip. He blatantly cheated during the fight. He's lost three straight.
