I know theres a lot new fans, I'm curious to see what fight made them a fan. My first event was Ufc 1, I watched it and I was a fan. My step dad had the scrambler so we watched all ppv's back then.

The first one I saw was Keith Hackney against the Sumo guy, but I didn't really become a fan until I saw Marco Ruas chop down the "Polar Bear."

Same scenario for me except my grandparents had the scrambler and the quick finish in the first fight let me down keeping me away from MMA until TUF came along years later.

Tank Abbot vs. John Matua.
It was an eye opening experience, to say the least. Been watching ever since.

Like many, I rented the UFC1-2 tapes at the local video store, but lost touch with the sport for a while after that... I still remember Remco Pardoel (6'2 250lbs) knocking out Orlando Weit (5'10 170lbs) with those BRUTAL elbows to the side of his head at UFC2... I will never forget that image... It freaked me out as Weit did not regain consciousness for quite a while...
The fight that really got me back into the sport was Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler... I just remember how baffled everyone was that this BJJ specialist was choosing to stand with a guy who had the most KO power in the division... And taunting and beating him up in the process... Still one of my favorite fights...
And then in the pre-fight video for his very next fight against Karo, Nick basically said he thought it was a bad match-up for him and that he would probably lose... Lol! I can't ever remember anyone else being so honest in those video segments...

Waaaale I reckon the first fight I done seen in my years was that dadgum classy Tank Abbot beating the snot outta some damn colored guy. This the only sport I done been able to watch since pro wrastlin but I still thank John Cena could beat any UFC fighter in a brawl.
Seriously though, I can't f**king stand when people use the word "seen" improperly.

Looking back, the first fight I watched was probably Bisping/Kang on Spike at 105. I honestly don't know why I put UFC on, I had the flu and was sitting bored out of my mind in my room. Watched the rest of the event, haven't missed a single fight since then.

Yes said this in another thread but my dad had one of those cable boxes in which the pay per view channels,hbo, showtime,cinemax were activated by prongs that bent(i watched the cable guy "activate" it once). So me and my buddy would take a time card my dad would bring home(it was juuuuuuuuuust thin enuff and juuuuuuuuust sturdy enuff to bend the prongs and also not damage it either) and stick it in the top to bend the prongs so we could watch porn lol so while scrolling for porn we saw UFC 1 was coming on ....so being it was kinda too early to watch porn we decided to watch UFC and hooked ever since!!!!
Missed a couple of the others but then caught UFC 6 and seriously i thought John Matua was dead !!

Well I may have only been watching since 105, but I've watched a pretty much any fight I can get my hands on, haha. Favorite fighter currently - probably a toss up between Kampmann, Condit, or Cruz. Other fighters I can't wait to watch are guys like Stout, Pickett, or Stephens. I generally prefer the lower weight classes, but anyone with solid technique or that is able to shut down the other fighter are guys that I watch. (yes, I enjoy Fitch/Volkmann/Lentz fights
)
