Bellator doesn't have a habit of signing UFC failures. Johnson would have to be ready for 3 fights in a short period of time, can't imagine they'd sign him.
That's what i've love about Bellator, i get to see new fighters i've never seen and not just recycled UFCers.
Not sure what his stock would be, but ProElite would be a good option. Go fight Marquardt in the fight that never happened.
Unless of course he wins, then all will be forgotten.

It depends on how he wins. If he uses his wrestling and lies on Belfort like in the Hardy fight, then he will be cut for sure.

I have faith in Belfort to know that won't happen.
Well this is the third time and he's 1-1 so far. If he wins this he'll get a stern talking too...but in no way will he be cut. People will forget about it just like they forget about him missing against Yoshida, and like they forget that Alves missed against Hughes (he has missed twice overall and was caught for banned substance earlier in his UFC career - which is worse?).

do they even have many stand outs in that class?

Nope, their champion doesn't know how to cut weight so he fights at his walk around weight (which is like 202). And he just lost in a non title fight to Travis Wufff.... Anthony Johnson could easily get the 205 title there, if he makes weight he can get 170, but 185 is probably too much for him because of how good Hector Lombard is.
The only way Johnson doesn't get cut is if he KOs Belfort in spectacular (and subsequently very marketable) fashion. I really hope that doesn't happen and Vitor (relaxed and rehydrated) punches a hole through him.
If Johnson gets cut, I think he'd be a bad fit for Bellator, isn't gonna get picked up by Strikeforce (because Dana isn't gonna sign a cheque for him again until he proves he can regularly make weight) so his best bet would be a one shot deal in BAMMA (they need opponents for Tom Watson) or seeing if he can make some money in Japan or in the likes of ProElite.
Missing weight by a full stone is pretty much career suicide...

Johnson should go fight Daley and they can both pretend to fight at the agreed upon weight while coming in obnoxiously over.

At least Daley is usually quite close when me misses weight.
Daley - 172, 171.75, 176
Johnson - 177.5, 176, 197
Daleys biggest miss is Johnsons lowest.
He should go to 205, bulk up a bit more and just never take chances with weight cuts anymore, it's his career, he needs to make sure he doesn't blow it.
