never P4P, but he is the #1HWT in the UFC. P4P HWT UFC imo is either Cain, JDS, Mir (losses asside, he's decently well rounded). I personally will never put brock in the top 10 P4P, theres much too many fighters at different weights with MUCH better skill-sets

I dont think any hw's should be in p4p rankings, mainly if they are Brock's size.
For those who dont know, Pound For Pound means if the fighters were the SAME size, who would be the best. I think Brock would beat Fedor, if they were he same size it would be a different story. Brock is better, pound for pound Fedor is better.

You know P4P means Pound for Pound right? As in weight doesn't play a factor. You're definition of P4P definitely makes a lot of comments that people say make more sense though, assuming they think the same way you do. Brock Lesnar at 155 would get f**king destroyed by everyone in the top 10. At 170 he would get f**king destroyed by everyone in the top 10. At 185 he would. .. .. .. you see where i'm going with this. He's a great fighter, and a great wrestler, but not an uber talented fighter like guys like BJ Penn, GSP, and Anderson Silva.

To say Lesnar would get "f*cking destroyed" by everyone in the top 10 at 170 means your thinking is motivated by a distaste for the man? Not a good way to think, compared to mine, at least push your biased dislike aside so you're able to make more sense. I know what P4P is and all I meant to say was it was really up to the individual because no list is final. If you really understood the concept, you would know Brock brings every advantage he has with him to the other weight classes, only a lighter weight. So who would dominate, rather "effin' destroy" Brock at 170? That's right! Everybody in the top 10, because his stand-up defense is soo horrible, so bad he even survived the heaviest hands of the division, you see where I'm going with this.

I don't think that he would bring every advantage with him, being that one of those advantages is definitely his size.

P4P.....
I like Brock Lesnar. I repect the dedication he has put into becoming and competing as a mixed martial artist. However, at this point in time he is not a complete enough fighter to be in a top ten P4P discussion in my opinion. Lesnar is indeed the UFC Heavyweight Champion. But a large part of his success is due to his size. His submission of Shane Carwin, demonstrates that he takes MMA seriously, but he still has a long way to go to be a P4P contender.

Is it just his size? Or is it his frame for his weight? Or his sheer force and freakish speed - for.his.body. Anderson Silva would be a skinnier kind of heavyweight, no? I'm just saying he would still be a mutant LHW, MW, and so on. Would you say Anderson Silva would be a slower heavyweight? Hard to draw solid conclusions from P4P talk and anybody that speaks like an authority on it, just isn't, includes me so I'm done.

Brock at lw would be like Sean Sherk but less well rounded.

I don't think Sherk has the comparable stand-up power and his wrestling isn't as good, maybe how he would look though.
I saw the same fight as everybody else in Carwin/Lesnar and I can't say that just because Lesnar block his temples and Shane broke an uppercut through that Brock has virtually no skill standing - if anything it pointed to his ability to take a mean shot and survive a mean onslaught, and that should be considered something he takes with him IMO.

LOL what?!?!
P4P = POUND for POUND i.e. if the fighters were the same size who would win...
Well since Brock has only fought one person his size and size plays a huge part in his game it seems pretty idiotic to put anywhere near the top.
Division dominance: hey he would pretty high on THAT list if he continues to win at HW.

Again his wrestling and stand up power come from his size - not all of it he is a very skilled person but a lot of it does. He does have a tonne of heart, but so does Sherk.
Well the reason people dispute his stand up skill is because he was very flat footed in that fight and when the punches came he went straight back which is obviously a big no no in any stand up discipline. The way he was holding his hand was 100% defence oriented, he had both hands up blocking his face which again is a no no because if your hands are up you cant throw punches back and the person throwing punches will just continue.... IMO Brocks stand up has a lot of room for improvement im not trying to criticise him because I would argue he is the best HW in the world atm I just dont think his striking is that good...

People were saying his ground sucked because of what Mir did in their first fight and look how Lesnar came back in the rematch, Mir's BJJ was totally shut down. I know what kind of champion Brock is, he's most likely obsessed with his stand-up right now and will make the necessary improvements and then some.
What if Brock constantly defends the title, but each time makes an amateurish move? This "list" might always evade him, but I think a victory over Brock will always evade his opponents, making that list crap.

In due time. People need to realize that his stand up is not THAT bad. Is it great? Hell no. But you shouldn't let that f---ing GIF that all the Brock haters post all of the time influence you so much. His stand up will probably never be his strongest point but its still not going to be the worst in the HW division. Plus, its not like to go along with his stand up he has a decent wrestling base...he has one of the best wrestling bases in all of the UFC. He can probably control his opponents on the ground better than anyone else in the HW division.
People need to lay off the haterade. He's got the strap. Deal with it.

In time, he will near the top. Hell, 6 professional fights, and he cracked top 10.
Beauty of watching him fight is that, every time he is out there, he has new tricks to show off.
(UFC Fights only):
vs Mir - Wild man. Eratic, and out of control.
vs Herring - MUCH more controlling and calm. Remained dominate the ENTIRE fight
vs Couture - Some striking, showed off his GnP
vs Mir (II) - AMAZING ground control, and some sickening GnP
vs Carwin - He can take a beating, and learning BJJ (and applying it)
vs Cain - Who knows.

To be fair what ever he lacks in technical skill (which imo is quite a bit) standing up he makes up in explosiveness - he did drop Mir, Hearing and Randy standing up. Tbh I cant see his technical skill improving a whole lot because his camp is filled with wrestlers, that being said doesnt he really need to improve it a whole lot to survive with the best HWs in the world because his physicaly attributes and wrestling base make up for it.
That being said its hard to argue that he should be at the top of the P4P list purely based on his size - if he were the same size as say AS or GSP or even BJ Thiago Alves who do you think would win?

I'm sure he'll end up on all the p4p list at sometime or another. Those lists always make me chuckle.

His camp definitely has a lot to do with it. I honestly can't be sure who exactly everyone is there (except for Tuschercher and Jon Madsen) but I do know that it is probably one of the weakest camps out there. I mean, good for Brock for starting his own thing, but he needs to get some quality talent in there. His rasslin and athleticism and body are only gonna do so much for him. He needs a couple of great strikers and a phenomenal striking coach in there with him.

he has great coaches up at his camp (brocks) for and he his skill-set, and he did get Couture to come up and train with him for a few weeks, but they do need some outside talent there to work and focus on his skill-sets which are lacking (obviously his striking is #1 on that list.) They do a phenomenal job of conditioning the beast, and working his talents from the ground, and I did see an improved clinch control in this last fight with Carwin. If I hear anything about coaches/trainers coming in I'll pass some of it along... hell, if I ask pretty pretty please a pal of mine I could go personally watch him train! God bless the wrestling community

Considering Brock Lesnars horse power, he most definately is the P4P GOAT!

If he beat Cain and the winner of JDS vs Big Country , he will be in my top 5 p4p list.
