Trying to get my brother into watching MMA/UFC... don't think he has watched any at all and rates boxing. I'm gonna buy him a TUF series DVD to get started as this was how I got hooked.
Which TUF series do you think I should buy him? Best fights, characters, behind the scenes stuff etc

1 and nothing past 5. That is when it became less about fighting and more about the characters in the house. To be honest I would rather have him watch an event, particularly live I think he would enjoy that over watching a reality tv series. Or just get him some best of pride, heck just youtube some great pride videos. Don't even spend your money.

The first 3 seasons were super awesome. Can't remember the season number, but the one with Nate Diaz and Manny Gamburyan was pretty good if I remember correctly. There's just been so many seasons, I can't think of them all.

That would be season 5 which was my favorite. That one was Penn vs. Pulver.
Season 8 would be good for a first timer as well. All of the fights were good on that season, plus there was a lot of house drama that appeals to newbies.
I'd show him a few good fights as well. Show him Guida vs. Sanchez, Gudia vs. Huerta, Hugues vs. Trigg #2, Couture vs. Nog, Huerta vs. Garcia. Just to name a few...

I think the most current season is pretty good. They really haven't done much house drama, they are doing more fighting and training stuff, i'm enjoying it

All of the episodes are available for free online, so no need to buy them.

Season 10 was a exciting blend of KOs and bloody battles as well as some of the weirdest-designed humour I've ever seen in a show. Go watch it at least once.

While TUF 1 had real good prospects, the challenges, lack of real tournament format, and Willa Ford annoyed me. They didn't really have a solid tourney structure till TUF 3.
I'd say the best seasons were TUF 3, 5 and 8.
TUF 10 was unfairly bashed. While it had 2 boring fights to start, the rest of the fights were pretty good, 11 finishes out of 15 total fights. Nelson, Schaub, Mitrione, Madsen and McSweeney or Wren will be good prospects from the show.

all the TUF episodes are free online, why not just pick out a few specific episodes you like with the best fights and just show him those.

TUF 1 without a doubt. I was re-watching it the other day and I forgot how good it was.

TUF 1 and 7.
7 has some really exciting fights.
The talent level was not has high, but it was more competitive fights because they were all on the same level.
I remember that being the season I looked forward to the next episode the most.

Didn't the first season have challenges and whatnot to eliminate fighters? Also they kicked fighters out of the house then too. Maybe season 2 or 3 or 5 was the best.

I think 5 had the best talent. Maynard and Gamburyan are in line for title shots. Diaz, Miller, and Lauzon have bright futures. And Corey Hill gets props for his Stretch Armstrong impression.
